Congratulations. That is a nice buck. The 165 AB in the 300 WSM is a great combination.
Thanks! I'm a bit of a rifle whore. Changing out for something different every hunt. That bullet in that rifle.. I'm not sure where to go from here. It's light, super accurate and man do you feel like you have plenty of power with 165g @ 3100. That combo may have just been the one I settle on after decades of chasing something different. I'm also not sure why the 300 WSM didn't catch on more than it has. Seems like the sweet spot for Elk and Deer.
Tied again yesterday and they know what fences not to cross this late in the season, was hoping with deer and elk season now going there would be some more movement. We walked over 6 miles, fog and rain on and off the whole day, got close to a few does but she is holding out for a buck.
Saw lots of game just nothing we could get to. Deer both muley and whitetail, antelope, elk, big horns, water fowl including swans, and even a pack of coyotes which were silhouetted at the top of the bench watching the same herd of antelope we were.
Will see what direction next weekend brings us.

A good hunt doesn’t need to end with a kill…
Time in the field with friends and family, seeing lots of game, and just enjoying the outing away from the other worries of life = priceless!
And you get to again!
