If it was me I would load up some more at 71.5 R26 and 72 H1000 and group them. Have you tried IMR 7828 or Retumbo?

Pick one and practice then go hunting. My last two Elk I shot with my 308 win and 165 Sierras. The one before that was with a 30-06 and 175 Barnes LRX. I have also shot moose, black bear and Dalls sheep with a 308. The moose was with the 165 XBT at 2660 fps muzzle velocity.

The 140' are going to be between the 130's and 150's.

Has anyone used these on deer? The box says plinker but the bullets look like they would hammer a deer.

The hemispherical base looks nothing like the Scenar base.

53 grains of Reloader 17 gave me 3300 fps with the 100 grain Hornady in my 22" Howa. 50.5 H100V was around 3100 with a 117 Sierra SPBT I loaded the 117 Sierra this year with 57 Grains of 7977 and I don't know the speed but they worked well on a couple whitetail does.

I have seen SP outperform other loads in a couple cartridges. Sometimes its WOW sometimes its meh. I used it in a 300 WSM with a 53 tsx sabot. I hit my skyscreen but the reading was 5000 fps. I did not shoot any more to verify as I figured my next move would be to vaporize the chrony.

Maybe it wont be too long on the primers. The stores here have Federal Large Rifle Match primers in stock. Regular and magnum.

I see Hodgdon lists 44-48.7 for an 80 grain bullet. I used 46.5 Superperformance with 85 Barnes TSX. Remington cases and federal 210M primers.

I was getting 3300fps with an 85 tsx out of a 20" barrel 243. I thought that was fast.

I plan on going this spring. Ill take my 35 whelen Handi rifle if I get it set up before then, or it will be my 308 win.
