Yesterday I paid 13.96 for 400 cci450 at a local store.
Paid 6.99 per 100 for CCI br4 a couple days before that at a different store.
Here the primers come in very rarely and are gone in minutes. That said I have still managed to grab about 5 thousand in the last couple months by checking the...
Pick one and practice then go hunting.
My last two Elk I shot with my 308 win and 165 Sierras. The one before that was with a 30-06 and 175 Barnes LRX.
I have also shot moose, black bear and Dalls sheep with a 308. The moose was with the 165 XBT at 2660 fps muzzle velocity.
53 grains of Reloader 17 gave me 3300 fps with the 100 grain Hornady in my 22" Howa.
50.5 H100V was around 3100 with a 117 Sierra SPBT
I loaded the 117 Sierra this year with 57 Grains of 7977 and I don't know the speed but they worked well on a couple whitetail does.
I have seen SP outperform other loads in a couple cartridges. Sometimes its WOW sometimes its meh.
I used it in a 300 WSM with a 53 tsx sabot. I hit my skyscreen but the reading was 5000 fps. I did not shoot any more to verify as I figured my next move would be to vaporize the chrony.
What do you plan to hunt with it?
My current 30 cal is a 308. I really like them.
I have shot with 30 cals:
308 win ..one black bear, one dall sheep, one moose.
30-06..one antelope
300 win mag.... 8 Sitka blacktail deer
300 WSM.... one mule deer and two whitetails.
My 14 y.o. son uses a...
With a 200 ABLR and Retumbo I would expect 3200 FPS. I have owned 5 300 RUMS and they would all shoot 200 grain bullets to 3200 FPS with Retumbo. I shot 200 partitions, 200 speers, 200 Barnes x's and 200 Sierras all to 3200 with Retumbo.
I also shot 220 grain matchkings at 3050 and 240...
True. The case capacity will still be close though. Its too close to be able to guess the case just knowing the Nosler case has 93 grains capacity. I still think it is a 375 Ruger case LOL.
All the other forums are convinced it is a necked down 375 Ruger.
Which to me makes the most sense as the Ruger case has 96 grains case capacity and the Nosler has 93.
The 7mm Dakota has 95 though so who knows. I have not seen any case dimensions that show the case body in front of the rim.
