    142 Accubond LR 6.5 PRC

Shot from my 6.5 PRC at 300 yards. 3000 fps muzzle velocity. 2550 fps estimated impact velocity. Found in 5th gallon water jug. First jug was obliterated into a bunch of pieces. Appeared to track perfectly straight through the jugs. 77 gr recovered weight.

300 WSM 180 NAB how far off lands?

I have had good luck with jumping accubonds. If you are looking for absolute accuracy then you need to figure out what your rifle likes. It might be jammed, just off lands, or significant jump. If you are looking for good accuracy in a hunting round but not willing to load one at a time, then...

    Chrony and .223

I have found that if it is very sunny out and the sun is at enough of an angle, it can shine under the sun shades, thus defeating the purpose of the shades. Also having the chrono too close can cause issues.

They are on midwayusa.com website now but it says temporarily unavailable. I would sure like to try them in may .308 when they come in though.

    225 Accubond 35 Whelen

Yes, I have a 22 inch barrel. Like I said, I was a little disappointed with the velocity at first, but I am also one of the first to argue that velocity isn't everything. The thump that I could hear when the bullet hit the jugs at 100 yards with ear plugs in my ears and ear muffs on was enough...

    Load Development

I have to agree with what has already been said about 3 shot groups. They rarely do anything for you. Dumb luck statistics state; the chances of 2 bullets hitting the relative same spot out of a 3 shot group is 66%. The chances of 2 bullets hitting the same spot in a 5 shot group is 40%...

    225 Accubond 35 Whelen

Expanded diameter was .71". I went through a lot of gallon jugs to catch one of these, not because of over penetration but because the bullet would go out the sides. I'm assuming that once the bullet went through the first jug or two, the large frontal diameter caused it to go astray. Much like...

Winchester .308 Deer Season XP factory round

Winchesters .308 win. 150 gr. factory round. Penetrated 3 water jugs at 100 yards. Pretty explosive but lacking in penetration. 91.5 gr. retained weight.

    225 Accubond 35 Whelen

225 gr Accubond from my 35 Whelen. 2600 fps muzzle velocity. Water jugs at 100 yards. Disintegrated the first jug. I could almost feel the thump when it hit. Retained weight 192.5 gr.

    300 Blackout TAC-TX

If there was a perfect hunting bullet for the 300 Blackout, this would be it. Penetrated 5! water jugs at 100 yards! First jug was obliterated. The only one more surprised at the disruption downrange than me was the other guy at the range when I told him it was a 300 blackout. Barnes 110 gr...

    7mm08 velocity

I wouldn't stress out over velocity in 7mm-08 with partitions. I have Federal factory loaded partitions that say 2800 fps on the box but chrono at 2650 out of my 20" model Seven. I have recovered 2 bullets from deer and they looked picture perfect. The one on the left was 40 yards and the right...

Ballistic Tip vs Accubond Long Range

I'll try not to be too long winded but I really enjoy talking about this stuff. First, if you are at all concerned about recoil and "heavier" bullets, then you should consider something other than a magnum cartridge. However, the Sendero is not a light gun and I don't think recoil is something...

Help / advice with defective Nosler Accubond bullets

I would contact Nosler and let them know the situation. I would be very surprised if they didn't make it right. I read an article a while back about how little affect the tip of a bullet has on accuracy at reasonable ranges. However, on target performance can be affected by the...

    338 Federal 180gr Accubond

Very nice buck! Excellent performance from that Accubond, as usual. I have been wanting a .338 federal, now I want one even more!
