I'd count a bobcat! :) Missed one with my 45 1911 years ago... Those cats are quick.

This post is very cool. I feel like an amateur compared to most of you. My list isn't as long, but I have had some pretty exciting hunts with some of these calibers.

.22LR
.38 snub nose
.223
.243
30/30
44 mag
444 Marlin
45-70
32
35 Rem
357
300 WM
300 WSM
300 Ultra
7mm Mag
8mm Mouser
6.5 PRC

Mine are mostly Whitetail, Hogs, Black Bear.. I hope this counts as big game

If I am allowed to add Coyotes & Bobcats
22-250
224 Valkyrie
22 hornet
.17 HMR

What size "mouse" did you tag with this one?
*Mauser haha. I may have been celebrating yesterday, all day. Didn't catch that lol

This one was super cool. A guy we hunted with was retired Airforce fighter pilot. He bought a few German Mouser's from a WWII Armory that was sealed up for years. It came covered in a cosmeline like substance. Told me if I clean it up I could carry it hunting, open iron sights and all. So I did. First deer I seen, I shot. I think it came in at 80 pounds.

I believe it's referred to as a K98? I don't recall 100%. The actual caliber was 7.92x something. I'm not good with those types of rifles and can't remember now, that was 1996.

Okay, I was kidding by only listing the 30-06, but I did eventually come to the realization that Dad was right back in the 1970's when he told me that the only rifle a fellow really needed was a 30-06.

Regards, Guy
My Dad said the very same thing. He passed away a few years ago at the age of 93, and hunted all his life with only a 30-06. He shot everything from ground squirrels to elk with a good old 30-06.
