New scope for the 7-300 Win Mag

Looks great Jorey! I've never used a level on the scope tune. Is there a reason why it would be mounted in front of the turrets instead of behind?

It's just in the way of the parallax adjustment. I can still see it just behind since it sticks out to the left side, and I shoot with both eyes open, so that's just what I had to go with. Not a whole lot of mounting room on the tubes of these S&Bs with the illuminated deal on the front, and the rear has pretty short spacing as well. Took a good while to get it all setup properly for eye relief and that level. I also wasn't able to use my ACI indicator with this scope, so that's now up for sale. The tube and turrets are just to big on these S&Bs, and I didn't have anymore room to work with mounting it sadly. Going to have to figure something else out for angle values as my swaro RF doesn't have the angle adjustment in it either...

Just got her zeroed at 300 yards. Took 1 shot at 100 yards, adjusted the scope to bullet hole, then went another 3" high so it'd get me close to my 300y zero. Took the next 4 shots at 300 yards and got a 1/2 MOA group 3/4" above center. Came down 1 click and set my zero. Total of 5 shots fired from a fresh mounted scope to a verified 300y zero. Man I love this rifle and scope. It's just a shooter! Nathan builds a helluva rifle!

Considerable amount, especially with the superior parallax adjustment on the S&B. Nightforce and Leupold are definitely a step below S&Bs glass. Comparable glass to S&B would be like Tangent, ZCO, Hensoldt, Swaro, and Kahles.

Nice, I knew they were top end but was curious to hear from someone with first hand experience.

The older I get, the more I just need better glass. I'm hoping the S&Bs get me through till I die, cause I can't afford much higher end glass than that haha.

I picked up a S&B 3-18x42 Meta today. Was over visiting a customer, stopped in a EuroOptic just to kill time. It was $200 off so I grabbed it haha. Came home with a new scope and a new knife. The warden asked me how much it was and all I told her was $200 off the scope, I saved so much the knife only cost me $100 (that's girl math at it's finest). Then she asked me what it's for and i told her its for the gun I'm planning on building this winter.... the one I don't have anything but a scope for now haha! I'm excited to try this thing out though!.

That Europtics place is dangerous. LOL

That's the way to do it! Congrats on a fine optical piece of equipment!

This is my first run with their stuff, but I have done a lot of reading about them and their optics. How are you liking yours?

I absolutely love them. Glass is exceptional even on 25 and 50x. It's like crystal clear like it's in front of your face. The turrets are repeatable, and built like a tanks. I have the 12-50x on my 223 and now the 5-25x on my 7-300 Win. I can't say enough good about them, and the only complaint I have is the price and I can't afford to put them on every rifle I own. I'm slowly trying though. But you get what you pay for in life, always. Like the saying goes, buy once, cry once right? Lol

I appreciate the input. I was struggling with what max power to get when I grabbed this one. Both the 15 and 20 power were $200 off. I went with 15 because it gave me more options at home with what I owned or a direction I may go with what I build. If I decide to go long distance build, I could always buy another scope anyway. The Swaro's, Leupolds, and Nightforce have always been good to me also.

I originally had planned to put a Schmidt and Bender on my Rem 700 .338 Ultra Mag as all write ups on the scope were very positive. Along the way I took a look at the Zeiss Diavari 1.5X6 and after a lot of thought (it was on sale) I decided on the Zeiss. I find the glass equal and repeatability excellent. After sitting on my rifle for a good number of years it has held up very well. The scope has Warne mounts which have also held up perfectly. When you get into that price range quality is excellent.
