That looks like the twin brother of my .338RUM.

I tried the 270 gr ELD X with Retumbo in my 338 RUM. It shot well but it was very destructive on crop damage deer. Exit wounds through the slats were fist size holes. I came to the conclusion that they were too soft for game. I haven't used the 285 gr ELD M.

In Lapua don’t go over 2750 fps MAX with 285 ELDM and try to keep shot 300 yard plus and only lung shots suggested. I use the 285 ELDM for moose hunting .
