Best Tasting Animal?

Dan, you forgot to mention Moose. 😉

Jim, I didn't want to list the moose meat you gave us as being "mundane". It was special and we really enjoyed it. But, at that time, I hadn't yet learned how to grill it like I have learned to grill the elk. If I had learned how to do it then, it might have made the top of the list... :)

I have eaten a lot of other game I didn't list. (Whitetail, mule deer, pronghorn, mountain goat, black and grizzly bear; all good - didn't eat the wolf or coyotes...always heard it was poor doin's to serve dog!)
I know when I was very young we used to eat critters from the trapline: beaver, muskrat, squirrel, porcupine, and lynx...I just do not recall it.
Susan made us a meal of squirrel last year, and it was pretty tasty. She used a MeatEater recipe.
I've eaten Canada goose, ruffies, spruce hens, sharptail, duskies, ptarmigan, and hungarian partridge; ruffies are my favourite.

I love seafood...but have only caught some pink, coho and a Chinook to date. Still want to catch some rockfish and halibut! Have caught a few spotted prawns and dungeness crabs; mighty tasty! (y)
