I hunt Whitetail in temperatures getting down to minus twenty Fahrenheit. IMR 4831 can loose some power when it gets cold. I'm having trouble getting my Tikka 2506 T3 to group with 53.5 grains of IMR 4831 and 100 grain Partitions. I've been loadind eight thou off the lands. Has anyone created a load with H4831 short cut and 100 grain partitions? I'd love to get a load touching the lands but am not sure where to start. IMR 4831 is getting hard to find in northern Alberta so I'm hoping to save what I have for warmer hunts.

You should try a much bigger jump to the lans. I reckon .040" touching the lans is not the best idea with Nosler bullets
100gn Partition bullets should shoot perfectly with a bigger jump.
I shoot 110gn AB's with a .050" jump - accurate as hell! I found most Nosler bullets like a big jump
Nothing wrong with the propellants - H4350/IMR4350 or either in 4831 good powders & I used them until they became unavailable in UK.
Now I use Viht. N560 - very stable

Thanks for the replies. Will try 0.020, then 0.030, then 0.040 jump when the snow melts. I'll also give the H4831SC a shot. I'll see if the Hodgon folks can give me a starter load. Thx again.

IMR4831 will typically give you great velocities. Test it with a mild-medium load while changing your seating depth. Once you found what seating depth it likes you can increase the charge weight to determine its potential.
