HELP!!!! 300 WM Loads with Nosler Part. Golds

The three 300's are/where a Savage 110 wood blued, Tikka 695 stainless steel and now a rem 700 CDL. I really like the CDL and I think this might be my last 300 Win. As for the load I found the sweet spot around 79 grains of H4831 and seated just off the rifling. An interesting thing I...

HELP!!!! 300 WM Loads with Nosler Part. Golds

With regular 150 partitions and a decent load of h4831, f215 primers and ww brass gets me some really pretty 1/2 inch groups in my 300 win. I know its not the Part Gold but the load shoots well in my last three 300 wins.

    Picture in a Scope

I saw an artical on it, I think it was in Handloader, maybe Varmint Hunter. It sounds like a great concept, that would be alot of fun. The camera does not effect the scopes functioning so your scope will still work if the batteries die. That is the main issue for me.

    Bullets for the .243 Winchester

My daughters stock unmodified youth mdl 700 in 243 win is shooting the 100 grain partitions right at 3/4 inch with imr4831, ww brass and ww lr primers. Thats a nice little blacktail spanking combo. Hard to improve on such a good thing.

    .300 Savage loads

We had a wolf meeting with the ODFW last night. I'm glad to hear you did your duty. I wish that the wolves were not going to be an issue here, but times are a changing. Glad to here the M99 is a great wolf killer. I knew there was a reason I liked it so much.

    Leupold ??

That's why Leupold and Nosler consistantly get my money.

    .300 Savage loads

The 125 and 130 grain 30 cal bullets don't really bring a whole lot to the table for big game hunting. For calling yotes I like to use my hunting loads if I'm not worried about pelts. The 125 bt would make a sweet shooting coyote load.

    .300 Savage loads

For deer a 150 grain partition if your a timber hunter or a 150 Bt if your hunting long and open. You should get between 2600-2700 with IMR 4898/4064 or R15. With 165 partitions the same powders should run between 2500-2600 and the 180's about 2350 fps. I love my M99's they are a sweet...

    Leupold ??

I'm always amazed at how many scopes are off while hunting, but work fine at the range. I usually think its just an excuse for operator error. I agree that any of those problems could cause a shift. Chance are a stiff synthetic stock would fix his problems if its really equiptment. Its...

    325 Winchster aka 8mm WSM

I am more interested in this one, than any of the other short mags. I think a Browning Blr with a 220 grain partition (maybe it'll happen some day) at about 2800 fps would be hell on elk and bear in the timber.

    300 Win Mag

I've had three 300 wins. I've never been stuck with the SAAMI minimum COA length. I use the regular 180 partition seated to the base of the neck at about 3.6. If your magazine lets you and your not into your lands, who cares about the OAL and supposed short neck. I think your shorter...

    Any .260 Remington shooters??

I love mine and I have a few friends who also love there. I feels like your hunting with a 243 and it kills like a 270. R19 and a 125 N Par are really hard to beat. Some guys like the 100 grain partition and sometimes you can get a 105 gr partition from the proshop use them with imr4064 or...

    Leupold Rifleman Scope

What Custom Competition Nosler Bullets Need to be Next?

How about another vote for a 6.5? The 140 range does seem like a natural.

    Leupold Rifleman Scope

I've picked up a 2-7 and a 3-9. They arn't a vxiii, but they are a nice scope for the price. I haven't put them on any heavy kickers, but they seem to be working out fine. The 2-7 is on a little 243 adl, and it makes a nice little setup for my kids.

    WHAT ACCUBOND SHOULD BE NEXT?

Another 6.5 vote in the 120-125 range. A 120-130 in 270. While we have the wish list going how about a 41 cal partition handgun bullet in the 210-230 grain range.

    POWDER SELECTION

I really want to play the Ramshot line, but there isn't alot of data on it. I really count on the Nosler manual for a decent starting point on loads. It's usually right on with my rifles.

    180gr Partition or 200gr Accubond

They'ld do just fine. Since you have a good load with the 180 par why not stick with them, unless you just have some time and powder to burn. I hate being rushed on time before a hunt. With a decent hand load the 200's should run 2500-2600. It would make for a real thumper and a deep driver.

    Deer Season

Heading out in a couple of hours. I think it'll be a good season. I've scouted a few decent bucks and good crop of young bucks. I'll be using my 270 Weatherby with 140 accubonds / norma brass / R19 and f215's. Hope everyone has a safe and successfull season. Best of luck to all.
