I used to collect wwii items and I talked with a few museums to see what they used. Most of them told me not to use neats foot oil and instead use peckards. It is good stuff. Try to keep it off the brass or it will turn green.
Neatsfoot oil will hurt the leather if you use too much. It also can...
I am close to needing a new barrel on my 243 ackley and was going to see what twists people are using for the 90 grain accubond. I currently have a 1/9 but have seen some rifles that were 1/8 and 1/8.5.
Thanks for any advise you can give. When I built my current 243 accubonds were not even in...
I blew up a short action Remington 700 a few years ago. Chambered in 300 whisper and I had a double load of aa#5 with a 220 grain bullet. It blew the bottom metal open and cut my arm pretty bad. I can’t believe it did not blow the suppressor off the barrel. It is the loudest gunshot I have ever...
I have a custom 243 ackley that I can not get to shoot 90 grain accubonds. Do these bullets like more or less jump?
My current batch is around 20 thousandths
I use this gun for whitetail hunting. I just remember the bt's blowing up when I shot them out of my 270 years ago. Have they changed the way the hunting BT is made?
Thanks
I have a 243 ackley that shoots a 95 grain bullet around 3300 fps. I just worked up a load with a 95 grain SST. I shot a deer with it and did not get an exit hole. Bullet went to pieces. Does anybody have a suggestion for a replacement bullet? I don't get great accuracy with partitions and I...
Thanks. The accubonds have always done a great job for me in the field. Maybe the best whitetail bullet I have ever usedbut components are hard to find right now and I may be forced to use some inter bonds.
I am sorry if this question has been asked before but what are the differences between a hornady interbond and a nosler accubond? They look like they are very similar.
Thanks for all your help.
I ended up with 75 grains of r22 with 165 grain accubond. Average of 3160 fps with a sd of 18. Used norma brass and federal 215 match primers. Great accuracy.
I am looking to buy a gun rest for use while I am testing loads and sighting in my rifle. I was looking at the lead sled and was going to see what everybody thought.
Will it hurt a 300 wby to be tied down and shot through that rest?
Thanks
