    RL25

POP can you run that rl-25 with the 115 bt and the 110 accubond? 3.210 OAL . Also those using this powder do you need a Mag primer for better ingition like WLRM or standard primers doing well? Thanks. Also will 56-58 grains of this fit into win brass? Or will this be a really compressed load?

Used crony with RL-22 and 115 BT in 25-06

I cronographed the load of 51.5 gr with 115 BT bullet and never got close to 3050 or 3100 FPS as Rem man stated. Used a rem 700 with 24" barrel. It was very dam close to what pop printed out with his program within 25 FPS!!! I got 2828FPS with 51.5 gr and 2930 fps at 52.5 gr of RL-22. I have...

Has anyone besides rem 25-06 man cronographed this?

56 grains with a 120 gr bullet? Is that inside the specs for that bullet? That seems high on powder charge for such a bullet? You can't break 3,000 fps with 56 gr of rl-22? Maybe I need to try IMR 4350?

Has anyone besides rem 25-06 man cronographed this?

I know rem man stated he gets 3100fps from 51.5 gr rl-22 powder out of his 25/06, has anyone else cronographed this powder in 25/06 using 115 bal tips? I have no reason to not believe rem man just wondering if others have had same speed ratings? As none of the manual or bal programs show this...

    Noslers for everything?

I only have 2 rifles a 22-250 and a 25/06. the 250 right now gets 52 gr A-max bullets, as these are supplied to me and are very accurate. If I was loading I would switch to the bal tip. The 25/06 gets 115 gr bal tips as I like to stick with 1 bullet and I don't save alot of fur I need "dead"...

neck sizing, how much does it help?

SO you are doing this partial resizing after neck sizing alone won't get the brass to load cleanly? I have had neck sized 3-4 times that the bolt closes with resistance or won't close at all, so I then full length resize. So after you feel too much then partial resize the brass correct? I can...

    Rifle Cleaning

I agree I can't afford to give up a day cleaning a rifle. I clean every 10-12 shots , new barrel break in every 3 until I have passed 40-50 rounds down the barrel. I kill coyotes and other critters, not shooting 100 rounds a weekend. 30 mintues or less and I get a clean barrel. I let 2 good...

    Rifle Cleaning

I use Montana extreme works great and then get the carbon out with the above mentioned J-B compound. Butches, Barnes are good too. I been amazed with the j-b as some think there gun is realy clean until I run a pacth or 2 down with j-b, hard carbon won't get removed with bore cleaner.

neck sizing, how much does it help?

Neck sizing will help with longer brass life and also head space in your gun, fire formed brass has better head space than full sizing and you'll still have to run your brass through the full length, depending on loads used, as at some point it won't cycle right. Follow reddings advice and don't...

Talked with a fella at Alliant powder on 25-06

He stated that I use the hornady manual to work up my loads on 115 bal tips, it shows a safe range of 48-56 grains of rl-22 with a 117 grain hornady bullet? Yet we hear from rem25-06 that his 51.5 gr load is near max for 115 gr bal tips? I always thought the lighter the bullet the more of a...

    ANNOUNCING THE NOSLER E-TIP!!!!

    Same powders

Get a powder burn rate chart off the internet and you will see while some are close they are not the same and you should never mix or use the same data for these powders! Follow the data for that exact powder.

    On OAL of chamber?

I did the dropping of a bullet down the barrell and measured with the cleanrod trick. I come up with 3.228 " OAL on my rem SS special purpose. So backing it off .20 that puts me right at 3.200 OAL. The question I had would this change with bullet length? Would a 100 gr bal tip be different...

    Pressure listing for 25/06 load?

No problems yeayow, I'm not dumb. I had a response from Alliant powder company and he recommends I use the loading data from hornady their 117 gr bullet for my nosler 115 gr bullets. It shows a max of 56.1 grains? Starts at 48.5. So I don;t know why nosler is much lower than others on max. I...

    Pressure listing for 25/06 load?

So you get more pressure the longer the bullet is seated out? What is the pressure at 3.250 for this worked up load and fps? Well time will tell what I can achive with this powder and load? I have seen very few that where not at max loads that could reach 3100 fps wioth a 115 grain bullet and...

    Pressure listing for 25/06 load?

Thanks guys! I would love to get quickload but not in the budget! So if I read that right it is showing fps at 2902? Yet rem man showing 3100fps? I will try it and crono the speed from my rem. The last number 96.6 is that % of case capacity? This wouldn't be a compressed load after bullet...

    Nosler Custom 25-06 brass

Funny I always thought on my end that the Win brass was a bit thicker than the rem brass, I guess a guy can weight brands and see what he likes better.
