I really like my Guide Gun. I have one of the 1st one's that have a ported barrel. It came out prior to the stainless models so I had it hard chromed. It has a Leupold Scout scope on it. Very accurate little rifle. I use 250gr Barne's TSX over 57.5gr AA-1680 which gets me 2570 FPS out of that...
I'm going to put this one on Gun broker soon. I really have no need for it. I use a 45-70 Guide Gun when I need a short, fast handling rifle with some punch. I'm launching a 250gr Barne's TSX out of my Marlin at 2570 FPS with 57.5grs of AA 1680.

Isn't that the truth! I felt kinda dumb there for a bit. I wrongly assumed that any scope coming out from Leupold would be optically centered. Certainly a useful learning experience. I'm just glad I didn't go and take 20 thou off that front base..
I'd like to have one with CRF(like I really need another rifle). I've got 2 of the Classic CRF, one 338 Win mag with the BOSS and the 375 H&H..
The FW are certainly a great looking rifle.
