7mm-08 / 120gr. NBT... <75 yd. terminal performance on deer?

No problem there. 120 BT will expend nicely at 2800 fps or less. Aim at the lungs and .... make sure you have a sharp knife with you. My son's 6.5 Grendel shoot 6.5mm 120 BT at muzzle 2400 fps and it kills deer.

    Confused with a .270

This is my load for 130 AB: 60 gr of H4831sc, CCI BR2 or GM210 Federal Large Rifle primer. Brass Nosler. Oal 3.295. Velocity about 3000 FPS. RL-22 works better for me with 150 PT. 58 gr. GM215 Magnum Primer, It is hot load but no pressure signs in my rifle 22 inch. Velocity 2850 fps.

    280AI build!....Barrel opinions?

Nosler uses 1-9 twist. With 26 inch tube it can weight a bit? I like 7 lb plus scope. Total about 8.5lb Vodek

    270 WIN & 140 gr NAB

My velocity load with 140 AB is 62.gr H-1000 and GM215 primer 3.340 COL. I get from 22 tube 2925-2950 fps. Max is 63 gr. It is hot load but no pressure signs. Accuracy is good. Another load is H4831 sc. Short cut gives me additional 25 fps over regular H4831. 58-59gr H4831sc with Gm215 magnum...

    Browning x-bolt 270 powder needed...using 150 gr partitions?

150 PT shoot well in my Sako 22 inch with Rl-22 of 58gr and Gm 215 magnum primers. 2850 FPS very accurate. This is my best load for 150 PT. With H4831 I could not get the same velocity. If you have Norma MRP or N560 they should work very well. H4831sc works better with 130 PT. My load is 60 gr...

    140 gr Accubond and RL-22??

In my 270 win 140 AB, I could not get them fly accurate less than an 1.25 inch with RL-22. H4831 Sc 58-59 gr. works well with GM215 primer. Also 140 AB shot very well and very fast with H-1000 62.5 gr with mag primer very accurate. The speed was 2950 fps with 22 inch barrrel. It is hot load...

    Join the 6.5mm club!

Hegland, Buy 6.5 swede, it is fun to shoot. For medium size deer and coyotes it is great. To get it right start to reload. But..... if you want to hunt bigger game you might need another rifle. I have Sako Classic 85 in 270, ( yes ) and Sako 85 Finnlite in 6.5 x 55 SE. They both work. Swede...

    270 Win Load Info

For 130 grains my loads are: H4831 sc 60 gr or R-17 53.5 - 54 grains. H 4831sc gives me more velocity over regular H4831 about 50 fps. Primers are CCI Large Rifle BR-2. I think BR-2 are just simply great and consistent. For 140 grain AB I use H4831 sc and 59 gr with G215M magnum primers. It is...

    Wisconsin Hunters

This shooting was about 4 years ago. More then one person was killed. This was very ugly and not typical for Wisconsin. Bow season offers more then rifle. A lot of turkeys are there. Coyote and fox hunting are good there also. Vodek

    Wisconsin Hunters

I am in Wisconsin. In Baraboo area they are a lot of deer but as many hunters too. Deer season is over, but until Feb 15 you can hunt foxes. Go to www.dnr.state.wi.us and get the map of state owned lands. Wisconsin offers much longer deer season for bowhunters about 3 months then rifle about...
