I have a hard time getting enough Retumbo in the case in 7RM. I much prefer H1000 or RL 26 with the 180 grain bullets but the H1000 is most temperature stable.
Since you have the Magpro it much better fits case capacity and it will hit close to 2,900 fps.
Can someone please run QL on 2 powders for me with in .243 Win with 20" barrel. Looking at predicted OBT's mostly to target velocity from.
Run with H4350 & IMR4831
.243 Win
90gr Accubond COAL = 2.675"
20" Barrel
I have searched a lot and only found QL data on 22 and 24" barrels.
Thank you...
I just thought it strange that this combo is the only one I think I have ever seen that listed more grains of H4350 than IMR4831 as max load in a manual. I figured it is probably a mistake in Hodgdons manual.
Anyone using H4350 with 90 AB in 243.
Reason I ask is Nosler Load Data states 43.5 is max with IMR4350.....
So i go to Hodgdon site and look at 90 grain bullet loads (think they use Speer SP)...
But on their site they state max at 1.5 grain higher with H4350 (44.5gr) than with IMR4350...
No but have shot a lot of RL 26 in 280ai. I would think looking at load data for other calibers that 7977 and Rl26 are quite similar. Starting at guessing around 55gr with the 160AB and look for max speed at about 2,900-2,950 +/- would be reasonable method. I did have better accuracy with the...
My favorite when used to shoot the 300UM was straight from Nosler load data.
215GM Primer
H1000
165 grain Accubond
I always started load at about 94 grains and loaded up in .5 grain increments until I saw velocity hit 3,270 - 3,275 as per the manual...........
If going with the 180 grain...
In both 7-08 and 308 have had Excellent results with AR Comp (and is nearly always available). From Alliant load data:
in the 308 Alliant's load data
168gr BTHP at 42.2 grains max 2782fps
175gr BTHP at 41.4 grains max 2719fps

Burnt a lot IMR4831 and IMR4350 in the 7RM as well and will give excellent accuracy, the only reason I switched to RL 26 is my temperature related velocity swings with RL 26 has shown to be about half what the IMR's do for me.
And you'd be spot on, the 55NBT is the only bullet I use both H414 and W760 interchangeably to exactly the same loads as represented on Hodgdons load data. Other than normal lot to lot checks they are the same.
Not usually a big spherical powder fan but they are IT in this application.
From Alliants 2015 load manual: http://www.alliantpowder.com/resources/ ... Powder.pdf
160-gr Nosler Partition
Reloder 26
Federal 215 Primer
Min OAL 3.220 ( I start at 3.26-3.28)
65.9 grain max
2996 fps
RL26 is NOT RL22 by any stretch, very consistent from lot to lot. I have seen the same thing other powder manufacturers also, it is why standard practice is to back down and load back up to previous speed ANY time you switch lot #'s.......
Nosler's own load data shows max at 63 grains with RL22...
