Not long winded at all, enjoyable read !
By not having a chronograph to work with while I shoot my first loads in a couple of weeks and sharing your experiences tells me I'm in the safe zone out to 200 yards just in case I find a node at minimum or medium velocities with also cold temps...
You guys have given me your loads for 3006 before , I would like to know if you guys have worked those loads in cold temps or warm temps ?
If you have some for warm temps , how much below max were your loads and do you use your warm temp loads for cold temp hunting ?
Thanks , Ray
Thanks PJGunner, do you remember the charge weight for that w760 load ?
I chose the cci250 because some folks were having problems with WLRS , so I decided not to take a chance although I do have some !
Thanks , Ray.
Thank you Dr Mike and Baltz526, I'm using a Lyman 1500 digital scale with rcbs check weights ,
throwing the charges and trickling with Lee dippers.
I took the time to make them all consistent .

I finally have two batches of handloads ready to go shoot in October if the temps are cool .
For 3006 , #1 is 165 gr bt , imr4350 , Nosler brass and CCI 200 .
# 2 is with w760 and cci250 , same bullet and brass as # 1
If I find something acceptable , will things change when I duplicate the...
Thank you HT, I hear the MKs are too fragile , I'm glad you had great results.
I have nothing to measure velocity when I get started on my handloads , so I'm curious about what velocity it's going to take.
Thanks again , Ray
I was able to buy another 1 lb bottle of IMR 4350 , when I got it home to compare lot number to the first bottle I bought a few months ago , it turned out that they have the same lot number but just a month apart .
Will they produce a" lot" for that long ?
Thanks Leslil for the reply and your case weight .
I'm new to reloading ; Nosler brass compared to Win. Rem. and Fed., the Nosler brass I have is the lightest and I just had a concern with this .
I pulled a Hornady sst 3006 a day or two ago and i weighed the case @ 175.0 gr.
There were no...
Please keep us posted.
I bought some 210s today and also have WLR and CCI LR
Let us know about those WLRs, I've reading about some problems people are having with WLR s.
Since I'm new to this stuff , maybe I'm gullible in believing it.
I'm not ready to go out just yet , I'm sittin' back...
Hey Boomer68, that's some good shooting.
I like to see this stuff and your work and like so many others totally produce what the books show !
Are you still using the 210 s
