I start just kissing the lands, then move back in 0.04” increments. That’s what Berger recommends but it’s worked for me with several bullet styles.
All I changed was the seating depth.

Plus I’m skeptical of the Hunter data. Nosler lists 49 gr as a max load for their 160 gr bullets, the Quickload data topped out at 46.
I’m thinking about a winter project of working up a 162 Eldx load for my spare Tikka 7mm-08. She shoots the 150 eldx very well, 2790 fps at the muzzle. She’s the spare and I rarely shoot her, so why not test a new load, I have plenty of components.

I use Hunter powder and 180 Partitions. My load is 59.0 grains, close to max so work up to it.
This load is a real thumper.

I have quantities of R-P head stamp brass I measure by the pound. No worries there. Powder and bullets out the ying, so to speak. Primers are my weak spot.
