QL request Nosler LR AB 142 grain Nosler brass 6.5 creedmoor

Good stuff... I shoot the 142 with R17. H4350 will do you good. I did that one on the right on purpose. Didn't want to get too cocky and arrogant so I purposefully pulled it to remain humble for now. Cartridge : 6.5 Creedmoor Hornady Bullet : .264, 142, Nosler ABLR...

So I was going to hit the range on Thursday....

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has crummy weather days on their days off.

Looked at my previous QL's and chrono data for the old load of 38.1gr R17 and am certainly in between nodes at the temperature (I assume) everything was today. These were the last 7 of a 38.1gr batch- the new batch (already tested) is 39.6gr. I forgot to bring that box to the range but now I...

[emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]. I was a little disappointed over the inaugural grouping on the 22-250. Handloads that were .5" @ 100 to this mess: I decided to shoot some factory loads that shot just under 1" before the bedding job to see if it was a bad bedding job or I messed something...

That's what I used. I put on 4 coats wiped on and off on the venture, and two coats on the 700, leaving the second on without wiping it off. Thanks Dhw! Looks like a post snuck in there while I was typing mine earlier.

Thanks everyone! I hope it pops up in a search and helps if anyone ever decides to do a T/C... Bret, post some pics! The first one I tried to do in a SPS stock, I used Hornady one shot. Don't think I did right though. I should have gotten the limbsaver recoil pad from Boyd's. Don't know...

I was feeling good with the practice results so I proceeded with the Rem 700 bedding. Prepped and ready for the mud! I mixed about 3 oz of devcon. Probably could have done with 2 oz. Much better estimate than the laminate though. I probably have enough left over to do two more stocks...

    Temperature stable powders

I'll post a list of powder fps changes you can probably expect tomorrow when I get to work. Its a good comparison. How important is reloading with temp stable powder though? I have a hard time answering that since a lot old powders are not anywhere close to being as resistant as today's...

Thanks guys. A lot was learned while working on this stock. TD helped quite a bit with his advice- special thank you to you sir. After five hours of cleaning and assembly, it is waiting for its inaugural post bedding-accuracy test.

Did the bedding a little early. EEEEEEEEEKKKKKK!!!!! I went a little faster than I should have and mixed more mud than I should have, but used less than I should have. The mud on the pillars and in the pillar hole created a tighter than expected entry. Once the action broke the tipping...

To create a new cartridge- go up to Data: Add,Change, Load, Save > Case Caliber data> chane data records in current file. Select the .300 Win. Mag cartridge from the list to populate the fields and then highlight .300 Win Mag. and rename it to 7 mm-300 Win. Mag. Click on Save New. Click on...

I did a few cartridges and modified a few in QL- there is a selection that you can start that will allow you to enter the wildcat dimensions and angles and it will spit out its case capacity weighting factor estimates- I think i discussed it in the QL thread. Secondly, I am finding that QL is...

Carving tools arrived tonight and I'm already regretting using the dremel tool. There's just something about a nice piece of wood and hand powered tools. The set I got was a budget set from "Japan" on amazon. I'm surely going to be using these a lot more than the dremel for excavating...

I didn't have anything else to do today so I excavated the material i was waiting to do with the hand tools that arrive tomorrow. I took everything down to ~1/16" and did a test run with plumbers putty. Beside the sides being a little thin, and the pillar needing a little touch up. I didn't...

Thanks Bret. Boyd's managers responded saying the original crumbled section of laminate wouldn't have degraded the stock, especially when pillar bedding and that they do not accommodate for modifications needed to pillar bed. You try to give some feedback to make a product better... Anyway...

Thanks- With the trigger guard and magazine plastic in place, there is a very little pivot. I assume this will be mitigated when removing the stock material and replacing it with mud, but just thought I'd ask- don't worry about it, or take care of it now? I think I need to take a little more...
