I'd go 260ai for the ease of it as all 3 are in the same max pressure range. The 260 will let you seat out further depending on mag length. For a little extra kick go 6rem ai it to 26cal.
The 2 on the left are the asc and LaRue. The difference is where the weld is (asc down the back and LaRue down the edge of the bolt catch rib). The middle pic is with an asc 6.8spc mag where it's folded and spot welded down the front (as in the right pic). The asc isn't as well built as...
although the capacity is less, it'll be nice to get that extra length for match bullets. too bad it's folded and tacked unlike being welded at the bolt catch area. if done that way you could get the extra length of the unnecessary metal (double wall) fold.
Let us know where you moved to as I sometimes get to NM. I don't hunt, but know a few in that state that likes to. 1 is a military vet that doesn't get around very well, but doesn't give up when he gets a chance to hunt elk. Sometimes he enlist help from local high school kids that he...
The 264wm was essentially new (less than 2 boxes of ammo shot thru) before I started shooting it. The 270win is a Rem, but unsure if it's a 700 or another 7?? model? He bought it in early to late 60s as best I can guess? He had another Rem 270win (unsure of which model) that he couldn't...
Trying to get comparable bullets across 4 calibers can be difficult. FMJ's are out, sst's are a no-go, target bullets in the same brand is as close as 1 could get? 28cal is 1 I didn't have nor care for, but now I have 2 (7-08, 7saum). All I need now is to get a 277fury or 270-08 to have 4...
I have 5 asc 308 mags that give longer than normal coal's, but have 1 fault (not asc's) when it comes to lower fitment. Some lowers it will not latch in to (aero precision for 1), but is easily remedied. 1/80th or .0125" is all the difference for it to work. Probably not going to be an...
In the last 8 years I've built quite a few AR's (10's & 15's) using poly, magnesium and aluminum upper and lowers. My last endeavor was to build a 20" 308win at 5# max weight............it's @ 5# 4.95ozs. AP is 1 of my go-to's on receivers, barrels and bcg's. You can't go wrong with where...
Supposedly rl is coming out with rl11? Don't know if it's going to be the 16/23/26 type powder (you know ....more for the greenies) or something close to AA11/AA11fs?
That's 1 powder I haven't been able to find and the imr version is quite a bit slower. I only have 2 45-70's (sbl & cb) for now and wouldn't mind getting the r95. My plan is to use the heavy for what I have (300-350 range) in the cb and 250 mono's in the sbl.
Description as 45-70 government is misleading as it could be trapdoor or 1895? Does Hodgdon list #1 as is and trapdoor as it and government as 1895? With (and in other published data (Hornady and Barnes) they state safe levels @42k in modern 1895's. I haven't looked at my Speer #14 yet...
Depending on supply line size going 250 yards+ anything else that could be in use might need that much? Not sure on well size, depth, volume, etc, but 100A does seem excessive. Looks like #2 or #4 wire size which is probably the same all the way to the well. Our water table is around 20'...
