    Brought back a classic

I just call it a copper pot call and yes you use it just like a slate. The crosshatch pattern is just the way I condition the copper. I try to do 90* but precision isn’t important.

    Brought back a classic

Finished this Osage orange (aka hedge apple) copper call for a member. The one in my personal stash has about all the finish wore off, it's rolled around in my bag for I don't know how many trips. Glad to see someone appreciate this excellent American hardwood.

This one was called in early this morning with the box call. Well known forum member, but I don't have permission to show his face, but that bird's legs look like Louisville sluggers!!!

    New job

Congratulations! Sounds like a great opportunity for you. I had about a 9 month stint with FedEx, and yes it is hard on the body. 150+ stops and 200+ packages a day all at a dead sprint takes a toll. How many times did you say the words "Screw You Chewy, and your heavy a$$ boxes"? ;)

jump to lands for some .264 bullets in 6.5-06

my general rule of thumb, (all my loads are hunting loads, so I don't jam anything) is C&C bullets I start at .015 and usually find accuracy +/- .05 either way of that. Mono's I start at .050, but more often than not the accuracy is found .075-.100

    Pause on spring gobbler

putting wainscoting in the bedroom, running up the stairs with a freshly cut piece and got wrapped up in an extension cord on the stairs. Fell Head first and gave the oak stairs a five finger death punch. pointer finger broken and wrist sprained. Going to be an interesting spring gobbler season.

    Building my first AR15

looking good! Some quality parts there, and I'd bet you won't have any issue finding a great shooting load. You could probably squeeze out a bit more accuracy by replacing the mil-spec delta ring, handguard, barrel nut and gas block with a free-float handguard and low profile gas block.

    OUT OF STOCK Box calls

Wow! Thanks guys! I never expected such positive reviews on this call, I mostly got going on this for the nostalgia of a box call.

    Savage coyote rig

Think I’m closing in on the 87 V-max and LeverEvovolution. This load is .2 grain over Hornady max for BOLT gun 62,000 psi data. Not safe for gas guns! Might start tweaking COAL and give it a kiss of a crimp with the lee collet crimp die. Still, I think as is it’ll put down yotes and bobcats...

    Turkey Hunting

You’ve gotten some sound advice so far. I like to go out the evening before and blast some crow calls to get a response to see where they’re roosting. I like to set up nearby the following morning and wait for the fly down, once all the flock’s “good morning” chatter is over, that’s when I’ll...
