Brought back a classic

Finished this Osage orange (aka hedge apple) copper call for a member. The one in my personal stash has about all the finish wore off, it's rolled around in my bag for I don't know how many trips. Glad to see someone appreciate this excellent American hardwood.

Very nice looking call. Never saw a copper slate. Is that what you call it?
Assume you stroke it like a slate…
I see you have a cross hatch is that 90 degrees or a different angle?

I just call it a copper pot call and yes you use it just like a slate. The crosshatch pattern is just the way I condition the copper. I try to do 90* but precision isn’t important.

Nice looking call. Not every call maker can get a good sound from copper. Great job!!!!
