Good morning, I just picked up a Sako 85 that's been rebarreld to 6.5-06, with 1:9 twist. For starters I have Sierra Gamechangers, Sierra Gamekings, and Hornady SST, all 140 gr. Loading in .25-06 it seems those bullets like around .020" jump. Anyone have other experiences with these bullets ? Thanks for your help.

Not familiar with the Sierras but have treated the sst like a ballistic tip, so starting at .020 would make sense to me. Cup and core bullets I also will start close. Shoot, I’m retired, I start every thing close because I dont’ golf, I go to the range once a week at least. Good luck, I always liked the Sako action.

my general rule of thumb, (all my loads are hunting loads, so I don't jam anything) is C&C bullets I start at .015 and usually find accuracy +/- .05 either way of that. Mono's I start at .050, but more often than not the accuracy is found .075-.100
