Michigan Out Of Doors did a segment of their show recently with Randy from Randy's in Bad Axe where he shoots that rifle at 100, 200, 300 yards. They were pairing it with a Leupold with a CDS set for the Hornady factory load and were getting awesome accuracy.
If you get on youtube and look it...
Was bored so I walked up to the local brew pub for a plate of wings and an IPA while watching some LSU/Alabama. Struck up a conversation with a fellow patron who was also wearing a camo ball cap. Turns out he is a rifle nut like most of us on here...
Anyway we started talking about all of...
I will be hunting deer here in Michigan with 3 guns. Where shots are longer I will be using my M70 Extreme Weather in 7wsm shooting 160gr accubond. Mostly I will be concentrating on handgun hunting with my Ruger Super Blackhawk hunter in 45 colt. It has a Nikon 2x scope and shoots Buffalo Bore...
I recently purchased a mountain bike. Figured it would be good exercise. Hadnt ridden a bike since I was 15 or so. Its true. Had no issues remembering how to stay upright. Tried a couple of different gun/holster combos, none were really bike friendly. Finally settled on my J-Frame in a...
Applied for NDakota deer. Odds are not in my favor. Will hunt doves in Indiana, grouse and woodcock here in Michigan. Then rifle deer. May chase bunnies once snow hits. Nothing crazy this year
Whats nice about the 475 is that you can also shoot 480 ruger in it. Like a 357 will shoot 38s. So you have the option of crazy hot 475 or milder 480. Gotta love hand cannons!
I have owned a Sig P226 in .357 Sig since 1998. Its not the cheapest thing to shoot but its a great caliber. I carry it most often of all of my CCW guns. I have large hands so I got rid of the factory grip and went with a Hogue rubber finger groove grip. As with every P226 I have ever shot...
Getting ready for turkey season here and was just wondering what everyones favorite set up was. I use my trusty Beretta 390. It started life out as a simple black synthetic gun. I sent the stocks in to Bell and Carlson and had them dipped in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass awhile back for duck...
I agree Beretta has good value. They can go from reasonable to as much as you want to spend. A buddy just picked up a used 686 for $900. Beautiful shape, plans on using it for skeet and doves.
Blkram-
A buddy of mine has a 1100 sporting 28 and that is a rabbit killing machine. I had a chance to get one at a gun show for a good price and did the classic thing and decide to go back and get it. Of course it was long gone.
What is your favorite grouse load in that gun?
I love my 28. It's a Beretta 686 white onyx O/U. I use it for grouse, woodcock, rabbit and doves. My favorite load for birds is Winchester's super sport AA load. ¾oz of 7½ at 1300. I use Fiocchi golden pheasant #5 for bunnies and have killed pheasants as well. It's a pretty light gun, great...
Ive got a Zeiss Diavari on my Win 70 SS/Syn 375 and it works great. That rifle started out with a Leupy 2.5-8x36 but my BLR needed a scope so thats how it ended up. I dont think you can go wrong either way.
Took a couple days off to go up north and hunt with my dad for our grouse opener on the 15th. Temps were very warm, so we just hunted the mornings. Saw a few birds, got this one on the 16th. Lots of squirrels too. Was good to hunt with my dad and not be at work!
Beretta 12 sxs 26"...
