Like the previous posters, I too load RL-15 with 260s. Its very accurate out of my SS/Syn M70. Not a ton of recoil either. In fact, plan to use them for deer on Nov 15th.
I had one of those! Wore a Leupold 2-7 vari-x 2. While in the Navy, I sold it to buy a different rifle. I put that in the top 5 dumbest things Ive ever done! Was a real nice shooting rifle, surprisingly accurate just shooting Winchester factory stuff.
Does getting excited for Goose Season count? Our nuisance season starts Sep 1st and I have a couple of hot fields. I have a 10 gauge that hasnt killed anything yet all patterned up and ready to go. Now if Nosler would just make some accubond BB shot, I would be all set!
OK, so is there any truth to the rumor that there are new Bren Tens out, being produced by Vltor? Supposedly they were to have shipped in May. I have heard they are around $1190 for the "vice" version (chromed slide, ss frame) in 10mm. If that is the case I need one!!!
Just got the stocks back from getting dipped in Mossy Oak Duck Blind. Very satisfied! You cant tell them from factory Browning stocks right down to the sure grip finish. Had them done by Duckville Imaging. Cant wait for goose season!!!
After shooting a couple of guns and talking to my goose hunting buddies down in Indiana, I decided on a Browning Gold 10 ga auto. I really like the 28" version in Mossy Oak Duck Blind but they are $1300 just about everywhere you look. The other day my hunting buddy called me up. Seems a guy...
I run a Beretta 390 synthetic for just about everything. I have an Undertaker choke, not sure who makes it, HS Strut maybe? I shot a bunch of loads and it really likes Winchester 3" high velocity lead 5's. I have one of those saddle mounts where you replace the trigger mechanism pins with a...
I know, I know this is a rifle forum but I want some opinions out there on your experiences with 10 ga shotguns. Let me start by saying that I have been very lucky in that I have fallen into an AWESOME spot for goose hunting this year and hopefully into the future as well. Been killing geese...
I shoot a .45 TC Omega SS/Syn with a Nikon 3-9 prostaff. My load is a 200gr SST with 110 gr of loose triple se7en 3f. I get 1-1.25" groups with a spit patch inbetween shots. If I dont run a patch my groups are usually 1.5 to 2 inches. Part of me wants to try that new Blackhorn powder but the...
Here in Michigan we are having an early doe season from 9/17 to 9/21 on private land in certain counties. I was invited to hunt a small piece of woods owned by my buddy's dad. I got there about 5pm and we hit the woods about 6pm. He sat down and told me to keep going about 200 yards to where...
Today 9-17 is the opener of an early doe season in certain counties in Michigan on private land. I had been invited to hunt a small piece of property owned by my buddy's father so I figured that I would hit the range in the morning to check zero on my TC Omega .45 SS/Syn and then hunt the...
this was a medium sized one...i shot another after this that was slightly larger but the Boone and Crocket sized one was not shootable due to being in the city....am looking at one of those Gamo Whispers just for such an occasion

Finally had a chance to properly sit down and shoot my new SS/Mossy Oak Brush BLR today inbetween thunder storms. Since I havent owned a .308 before and dont have dies yet, just had factory stuff to play with. Sportsmans guide had Hornady 150 gr SST ammo on sale for $23 so I got some of that...
I know its kind of off topic but I recently picked up one of those SS/Mossy oak brush blrs in .308 and the damn thing seems to be ACCURATE despite having a lousy trigger...does anyone know of a gunsmith that does good work on BLR triggers?
