    Still knocking on door.

Thanks DrMike. The 6.5-47 shoot like a laser. Once I had it dialed in, the rifle direct the 130 Berger VLD's where I want them. I'm really impressed with the 6.5 - 47 Lapua. During sight in, I was shooting at a 6 inch gong at 1,040 yards. The energy level of the 130 even at that distance seems...

    Still knocking on door.

It was a lousy condition today. The wind was blowing crazy from a calm 2MPH one instance and 8-10 MPH sudden burst. Today, it's all about reading the condition and know when to pull the trigger. The magnum guys even had a hard time with the wind and we non magnum shooter got them beat. I thought...

Here she is... she still needs her make-up

I loaded 50 rounds of 105 grain Berger and Reloader 15 starting from 28.5 to 30.3 grains in 5 round increment. I had a match today so no chance to go to the range.

Now off to the range and see what she can do. I just mounted my Nikon Tactical for now for barrel break in. I'm still contemplating on what scope to use on this rifle. Being a Tactical/Longrange rifle, A Nightforce NXS probably will be more appropriate.

They're adjustable. You can choose the weight of pull when you buy one. My 338 breaks at 12 ounces.

Thanks Guys. I can wait to get this rifle to the range and see what all this 6BR hooplais all about. Joel, I have rifle basix in all my Target rifle. It's a fine trigger and it met my needs. I set all of them to about a pound.

    6 BR Norma

My smith is really busy. If I have him do the complete build, I'll probably have to wait a year. Not only it saves me time, it saves me serious dough as well. Besides, I can do pretty much everything except chambering. By the way, I dig the finish of your 6.5-47, especially the barrel. I will...

Just informed by Jim yesterday that the barreled action can be pick up Sunday. I still need to bed the stock and cerakote the barreled action afterwards.

Accuracy data using Reloader 17 in Short Magnum cases?

German Salazar wrote an excellent article in the Rifleman's Journal about primers. The article gave me an insight as to what type primer to use when developing load for a given cartridge. For example when I developed load for my 6.5-47 Lapua. I will be using a slow burning powder (H4350) to be...

Accuracy data using Reloader 17 in Short Magnum cases?

Pretty much Mike. WSM rounds have shorter powder column therefore the use of magnum primer is not necessary. Scotty, I use Federal 210 match primer.

Accuracy data using Reloader 17 in Short Magnum cases?

Those WSM round seems to prefer slow burning powder. I use Reloader 25 on my 7 WSM and a standard rifle primer rather than magnums.

    It's Coming!

You still need to bed that stock to your action. Better yet, pillar bed it and torque it to 65 inch/lb.
