    cartridge oal vs powder charge

Infact here is pics from a load development is just started for my 300 rum and 200 gr AB using rl25. I have done a lot of loading for this rifle and my previous load was a Max book load so I loaded in 1gr increments to book max at which point I went to .5 gr increments. From this point I have...

    cartridge oal vs powder charge

I am with these fellas. I like to start certain bullets at a starting jump fron the lands and load 3 rounds of each charge working from min to max charge. Watching for pressure signs as well as grouping. When I find a load that groups best I then do a seating depth profile to tighten groups or...

    270 win case water capacity.

From my experiance it typically means a higher max load due to increased space and lower case fill. It should not affect accuracy unless you are Bumping the shoulder back to far and allowing the extra space in the chamber to keep the round from aligning with the bore as the bolt closes. I always...

    270 win case water capacity.

Thanks guys. The reason I asked. My current load is 59 gr h4831sc wlr primer and r-p case. I have no pressure signs and chrono speed shows 2924 fps. 24" barrel. Even though this load is .5"@100 reloaders mentality to see if I can make the load better.

    270 win case water capacity.

So I just measured case cap on a fired unsized case. Capacity measures 69.0 gr water. Does that seem high?

    "Best" .270 bullet

I personally like the 140 ab. They are a tough bullet and with the right load combo 3000 fps can be acconplished. I'm workin on the 150 ablr and if I can make it shoot like the 140's that may be my next favorite.

    QL request

7828ssc was more of a curiosity add to how efficient it would be in the 3006. I have have been putting off developing a load for my 3006 with the partition due to the long throat of the rem 700. But with hunting season over it time to start working some new loads. Luckily the mag well is also...

    Its time to start

Load safe. Follow all warnings and cautions. Be aware. There have been a few posts on here recently of people who were not paying attention when loading and ended up very very lucky. If you run into something you don't like or feel right about, stop and ask. Its not worth getting hurt over or...

    QL request

I am considering working a new load for the 3006. And there has been shot of talk about powders lately. And shoot of info shows that rl22 and 7828ssc could be close to if not the same powder. Could someone run a quick load for me. Running a 165 part and 7828ssc. Curious to see if this could...

300 rum & 200 AB load work up

I love rl25 consistant velocities. And as accurate as you can get. And from what I have seen its not very temperature sensitive.

    Selecting powder?

There are a lot of ways to go about handloading. A lot of trial and error. But the most important thing is always go about it safely. Always do lad work ups and anytime that you change a component or open a new lot of powder. Start from minimum. Safest way to check. Powder lots can vary and...

    Selecting powder?

Normally I start by using a favorite powder. I tend to like powders slower than book loads most of the time. There are about of powders out there and you will find that powders tend to be found more so in groups of burn rates. I.e. rl22 is close to 4831 and right around 7828. So if you load...

    What should I try next?

Looking at some of the info and you say that anything over 70 gr has a hard time finding consistant accuracy? What is your barrel twist. If its not fast enough you may be running into a stabilization issue.
