6mm Remington
I'm glad I recorded everything I did when I was shooting a lot. I have a three ring binder for every firearm.
Not sure I ever tried the 140AB or gave it a fair chance, but I think that's the right choice. I used a lot of Viht N-165 & 150gr B-Tips for some pretty good results...
So many know the archery world has taken over my family the last few years. A lot can happen in that amount of time I've come to realize tonight, and almost afraid to admit this. I probably haven't fired 50 rounds total in the last three years. To make matters worse, I wasn't really happy with...
They are definitely not a pack in tent. Even the smallest 4 man will make a guy squat if packing too far.
Vince - much agreed, as it will be just a tarp for tomorrow night at 11,500'

Wish I'd have caught your post sooner. Did you ever get to see any sheep? Several of the canyons towards Estas have a few. Your best bet would have been I-70 west towards Idaho Springs / Georgetown. If you're back this summer - before Labor Day, take a trip up on Mt Evans just west of...
One never needs an excuse to get out and hunt. It's what we do - it's what we enjoy & who we are.
Enjoy your time working up a load & practicing - when the moment comes you'll know it will be true, and it's at that moment one realizes ............ ;)
Good luck!
I used the Dragonfly for many of year and it was a great pack! The only two issues I had were the initial weight ( built like a tank & quality ) and with a lot in the pack never seems as I could get it up close to my back. It served it's purpose & I wouldn't have an issue purchasing a smaller...

Great pack. I just received my Ultra 6000 & will probably look at the Icon Pro 5200 after this season.
I've got a few miles on it and really like it so far. If all goes as planned I'll get the upcoming weekend to try it out at least overnight.
I'll pile in on this as well & state how great this tent is. My first experience was with a friends 6man at 12,000 foot elevations. The wind that night was insane & fully expected one of the fiberglass poles to snap & come shooting through the side of the tent. There were times the tent was...

Good luck on your hunt this year. I've put a couple cows in the freezer here in CO with my 300RUM.
For the most part the elk are in great shape this year. Wet fall, spring & summer has been good to them.
It's been long enough that I obviously forgot how to post a picture & did it twice.
Wayno945 - started using Ulmer Edges last year - first mechanicals I've ever shot. One small Mulie last year & this whitetail this year. I'll stay with them after seeing this damage on this doe. Broad head is...
Hello Scotty -
I have to agree on the 7828 powder. I think the last time the trigger was pulled on my Bee, my wife shot her cow elk @ about 425 yards with it a few years ago. 115gr b-tip held together better than I expected.
Good luck !
Hello Again - I'm not doing a good job of keeping in contact here since the archery has taken over the family.
Last weekend was my first chance to hunt out of a tree stand for whitetail. Wish they all went this way, as it didn't take much over 30 min after daylight to be...
Good evening -
I've attempted to call Hodgdon several times and have always been put on extended hold until the music times out and hangs up.
I want to make sure I'm reading the reduced recoil load instructions correct with H4895 & the 60% rule. Their data sheet they show on their site...
Thanks to all -
I went ahead and ran with the 70grains I've been shooting for the B-tips and didn't have any pressure signs. It was too windy to set the chrony up, so I don't have a decent comparison. We'll wait another day for better conditions and see how the groups go - it's going to take a...
I might say possibly, however when I look at other cartridges in my safe and compare them, they are much closer, .270wsm, 7-08, .280 between the two manuals.
Ok - I just picked up the new Berger loadinng manual, and have questions. I understand there will always be slight discrepancies from one mfg to another, but this one seems excessively wide.
I'm looking at the 115 VLD's
Berger coal = 3.170 stated
Nosler #6 = 3.250 stated. ( yes I'll have #7...

Yes I've heard the hogs have made it into SE Colorado. Have looked into it several times, however keep running into there are small numbers located on private property. Appears the land owners have seized the opportunity and charging a healthy price from my understanding.
