The Tri-Way arrived yesterday.
I haven't had a chance to use it, and will circle back around when I do... but it may be a few weeks as am preparing to pursue things that fly beginning Sept 1 amongst other things.
First reaction upon opening the box...no surprises.
Having used a WFT...
I have used and enjoyed Little Crow Works "Worlds Finest Trimmer" or WFT. It trims great, fast, and affordable. Similar concept to Possum Hollow trimmers. Really really liked the WFT over the years. Only problem I saw is, still need to (at least I recommend you do) chamfer/debur. When...
What measured velocity did you get with it?
What case did you reload/do you know the internal capacity of the case?
Appears to be pretty darn hot/not recommended according to QL.
I am not chasing velocity, I am just asking to see how close it was to the computer run in the 16 in barrel.
I...

Saw it and thought would share.
Was hoping it would include a video regarding powder and primers to go along with previously discussed SAAMI written guidelines for storing and transporting that sort of thing....but didn't find a video on those.
I...
""I'm under the gun for Noah's rifle as it has to be ready shortly so he can familiarise himself before moose opens on August 15. This grouping with 120 grain GMX looks promising,....""
Dr....I'd say those there with the 42 are definitely Minute of Moose...and then some...very nice!
I gotta try that...I've just been dumping back the over-charges when they happen.
(IF you are running heavy long stick powders and the brush won't pick it up up....tweezers will work too. This way the round counter on the dispenser means something for me/double check to brass leaving the...
With you on the separate bench and seat while she's dumping tddeangelo.
I also give the machine a good wipe with an anti static dryer sheet (like bounce) before I get going, particularly in the winter time when the furnace has been running a lot.
Another little trick...if it happens to...
Another Chargemaster fan here.
Things to consider regardless of which one you choose imo. 1) drafts. Pay attention to where you set the scale/dispenser. They will pick up/measure pressure caused by air flow. Even something as slight as being set up near an air return for your heating/cooling...
Interesting read. My 2 cents ... without getting into the metallurgy because it is probably above my pay grade anyway....all I will say is proper brass annealing is all about temperature and duration. For example, annealing brass in some industrial applications, including some (not all)...
That looks like a nice machine too and I am with you (except I went with the Bench Source). I also rigged the two camper propane burners to a regular propane tank so I don't have to deal with changing bottle pressures messing with my timer set when doing volume. Your giraud looks real nice too!
Annealing them twice/rerunning them again before firing won't hurt the brass, provided you don't exceed/overheat them. However, once they are over heated, they are trash...... Re- annealing won't fix them. So as long as you aren't getting the necks over 800 or the lower 1/2 over 400-450you can...
http://www.saami.org/specifications_and ... Powder.pdf
Check local regs if concerned about that sort of thing ...... as far as containers and/or cabinets.....saami is a decent enough read and......1 inch thick lumber with a weak side is recommended - and kind of makes some sense if I really...

This video (no affiliation) shows the use of the tempilaq paint at the 2:50 mark.....and probably explains it 10 times better than I can...lol He is using the 750/450 paint combo ... I use 750/400 combo...
I reread my post and thought I might add this.
If you remove the neck of the brass from the flame, as the 750 tempilaq on the INSIDE of the case neck changes ..... the heat in excess of 400 degrees pretty much immediately stops migrating down the case any further. AND when/if you use some...
Q: If you don't quench, how do you keep the heat from the base of the case?
My answer: I have found, that when annealing from .223/5.56 brass and longer length brass, that if the neck isn't being over annealed (getting too hot), the bottom half/base of the case will not exceed 400. In other...
I can not recommend more strongly the use of tempilaq temp indicating liquid to take out the guess work. Yes, many people don't use it, to each his own, everyone has opinions, here are mine.
Put some 750 tempilaq on the INSIDE of the empty rifle case neck (and some 400 on the outside of the...
Thank you for the data and the responses, this will get me started.
Plan to work XBR next to my pet powder (H322) I use for lighter bullets on these 77's to see if I can find some accuracy with the heavies too.
Have a great afternoon, and thanks again.
Looking for reloading manual and/or program generated load ranges for Nolser 77 gr Custom Comp and IMR XBR 8208 please. I have checked Nosler site and don't see that powder listed in the 5.56 data with this bullet and could use some help. I see the powder charges that some are having luck...
