I use a one piece rod with a Bore Tec jag, patches, and a bronze brush. Shooters Choice Shotgun Cleaner, and Clenzoil (for cleaning & protection).
You be amazed at the fowling the jag/solvent will get out of a clean looking barrel, run the brush through it and more fowling comes out.
WD40 is a...
Look for some one once loads even at 1300fps they are softer, or so I am told. I shoot 28ga/410 most of the time, but I do shoot SP3-20ga/26" with 7/8oz at 1280fps which I bet should feel the same.
Both are listed Alliant loads that actual fit in the hulls and crimp nice. If you have load shot shell for long you many listed loads will not fit they may stack too low or too high.

7/8 ounce of shot I use #8 for target and #7.5...
I been using a 870 camo 3" chambered 21" barrel. For years I used the 1 3/4oz HV #5 lead winchesters. The when the REM Heavy Shot loads came out they are all I have used. One shot per bird last ten years. With the NEW WIN long bird lead ammo a load of #4 lead should work fine out to 50 yards. I...
Thanks on the PT report, I just have to buy some before they cost more. And I can likely push it to 2500fps with out any pressure signs.
Did that with the +P 35rem loads and its pressure is so low its only sticky extraction that gives indication in a 336. Guys with Model #7's get 2300fps useing...

What I am looking for is a bullet that in the 358win (2400-2500fps) on deer size game will expand fast enough to nock the snot out of deer like my 35 rem does at 2188fps. So fare have not found it. I have the 225gr PT loaded at 2440fps but have yet to shoot a deer with them, maybe...
Do any of these electronic scales have temperature compensating circuts and physical over scale prevention? Constent current amps for the tranducer exitation voltage?
Beam scales are simple but technicaly still ahead of the cost effective electonic scales. Expensive laboritory electronic...
What is the longest OCL that you have found that will function flawlessly through a REM700 short action magazine (700SA Classic).
Issue is if a 200AB could be use for a 358win chambered in 700SA Classic.
I all ready had a 270win, 35rem, and a 35whelen. I set out to spec what rifle / cartridge would do 95% of all my Mchigan big game hunting. In short the largest bore that would give me a 250 yard usefull range and 2500 fps seemed to be the velocity needed to do that. Wala its the 358win, so I had...
Thanks every one. The reviews on MidwayUSA of the FTX in the 358win is plain great. For white tail it or the 220gr speer at 358win velocities should expand fast to see great resualts. Hunting any thing else the PT will be my bullet.
From looking at bullets pulled from my sand bank back stop...
I have shot three bucks with my 358win. One with the 225gr Hawk RT that was very impressive, not the best accuracy and velocity was 2380fps. And two with the 200gr Spire Point that I was not impressed with. My 35rem with the 200gr CLRN at 2188fps seems to be a better match and more impressive...
I concider it only in high volume shooting, for me its shotgun shooting where 200 rounds per week is normal. My 28ga load using 13.0grs gets over 500/lbs while my 20ga load uses 16.7grs, my 410 uses 17.0grs.
For its size the 22-hornet works well with 12.5grs and next is the 221 with 17.0grs...
Hunting bears from a stand up close is just plain fun. I am a fan of any 35 cal but don't let that 45-70 collect dust when it is SO Perfect for bear hunting under your conditions.
I would opt. for a heavy bullet 350-400 ish grains at say 1800 fps or over as long as it can take the high velocity...
On my U/O's & pumps I like the extended chokes. No tools needed easy to check if there still tight. I do not change them ofton, SKT & IC does clay's and most of hunting. My guns have 26" barrels so an extra 1/2" is not an issue.
Their all great!
I like the Marlin in 218 bee, 35 rem, & 45-70. Not sure if they made in the bee or just the 25-20. And if they would remake the steel BRL and add the 338 Federal to its chamberings.
Keep the top barrel choked tighter for longer shots with its better line of sight. Bottom gets the more open choke with the wider pattern. For clay's I am usually choked SKT & IC but some times think IC & IC would work better.
Nice gun! O/U's broke open carry over the shoulder just plain great...
The 28 gauge is my go to gun for grouse and smaller birds. I up graded a few years ago when I found a new in box berretta 687 SP3 28/26" for $2399. Thats my favorit clays and hunting gun. My main load is 3/4 ounce of #8 listed at 1200 fps. If only hunting grouse a 3/4 ounce #7.5 load like the AA...
My last rem 700 came with the Pro-X. I planned to replace it with a jewell but after ajusting it to where I like it I filled down the protruding set screw flush so I can not tell it is there. It is an extremely smooth pull and I am happy with 3-shot groups of .3". I may have lucked out with it...
