Hope that you get a bunch, Guy. Its a balmy 19 degrees here with frost all over everything. No bugs and I am loving it. We had a sprinkle of snow the other night, and hopefully next week there will be lots of it. Put on the tunes, turn up the stereo and get dancing.
That's the problem with the news. If they don't know, they invent. I hardly ever watch the news or read a newspaper anymore. A person can get better reports from DC Comics than the newsstands.
I have had excellent results with IMR 7828. Great velocity and accuracy with very little deviation. Not as temperature sensitive as the Reloader 22 and consistent with different lot numbers too. You'll like it just fine.
They definitely prefer floating. My a bolts and safari's shot 1/2 moa after a good action bedding and float job. I had to do one twice, and extend the glass about 3 " in front of the receiver before it worked to my satisfaction.
Sorry to hear that you struck out on the draws, Dan. I got antlered and antlerless mule deer and antlerless whitetail. Got shot down on the antlerless elk though. :( Dunno about the antelope yet. Good luck on what you can chase.
That is one beautiful piece of wood, Fotis. Hope that it shoots as good as it looks. Now, you will have to find one in 270 Weatherby to be complete!
270 Weatherby magnum Lasermark stoked with 140 grain boat tails for elk, mules, whitetail and antelope. Heavy charge of Reloader 22 and WLRM primers. I will be sticking with the IMR 7828 after the Reloader 22 is finished. It is too inconsistent from lot to lot for my liking. I also have a great...
For me, it has to be sub moa, or it's down the road. Last falls mule was shot at 432 yards. The elk was 370 yards. Minute of barn just don't cut it with me.
Around here, if you shoot a bear, you must take the hide. You can leave the meat in the bush, but the skin comes with you. I too don't need any more skins. The taxidermist idea sounds like a great idea if you can get him to give you a credit on your next wall hanger.
