    Wowed by a 28 gauge.

I don't have a 28, but I have my dad's old Remington 17 in 20. I've been a terrible wingshot over the years, but when I started shooting that 20 at dove I started hammering them. There's a ton I don't know about scatterguns, but it amazed me that I did better with a smaller gun launching less...

Here's the new resident of my gunsafe

I have a set of Talley Lightweights, Jake, but I've got a thing about steel. I'd like to sell them.

How to ruin a perfect 200 yard group

I can screw up a five-shot group on the second shot, so don't feel too bad!

Here's the new resident of my gunsafe

Thanks again! I thought I'd never have this. I've always harbored some disappointment at the fact that the only Model 70s chambered in .280 were Featherweights...call me odd, but I just don't care for the Featherweight Classics. I prefer the true Classic style stock, and the fore end tip is a...

Here's the new resident of my gunsafe

Thanks, gents. It's certainly the nicest rifle I've ever owned!

Here's the new resident of my gunsafe

One thing I'm learning is that those nice, sharp, clear, and crisp photos of firearms I've seen on Gunbroker are a display of talent on the photographer's part. These will have to do, though...I'm not looking for yet another challenge---my plate is quite full!

    awsome Ruger customer service.

Good to hear. I think Ruger reveives a lot of unwarranted hate on the web.

What's a stronger word than "GIDDY?"

So, in the vernacular of the late 60s...I'm trippin, man! I have the rifle, will post photos in the next day or so. My, oh my am I pleased. The rifle is drop-dead gorgeous! The wood is nice, much nicer than the typical off-the-shelf rifle, but the bluing is superb. I don't believe I've seen...

    Twist for a 6.5 Barrel

35, have you considered going with an AI chamber?

What's a stronger word than "GIDDY?"

I have the pictures which were shown to me, but I will wait and post my own photos when I actually have it in my hands. It's going to be a loooooong, looooong week! :(

I think I got the last one on the planet, Scotty. If I run across another one like it I'll shout from the rooftops!

    Remington 700 trigger

When I had a 700 I wasn't real pleased with the original Walker trigger. Studying the design, I could see the problems with the thing and decided to replace it with the newer fully adjustable X-Mark Pro. I found it to be a very good trigger once it was well adjusted, and more consistent than the...

    New project

Should be an awesome rifle! Love the idea of a custom built on a Model 70 CRF, and sounds like an interesting cartridge too.

NO sir, tis in walnut. I wouldn't mind a nice quilted- or tiger-maple classic stocked Model 70, but I have never found a reason to object to walnut. I do wonder if any of these were made with maple stocks, though. It is a 1 in 500 edition.

How concerned with weight variation are you?

You might benefit with the help of someone running QuickLOAD for you. The technique I would use is to see what QL says about pressure in a load you know works well in the more voluminous brass (where you supply the water capacity by weight) and matching the pressure to the less voluminous case...

Seating depth for accubond long range

I could be wrong, but I wouldn't jump to Re22 so quickly. You might find that varying seating depth in small increments (or decrements, as it were) turns out to be a long drawn out process. I would suggest varying by 0.010" and loading only TWO rounds at each different OAL. You seem to be...

What's a stronger word than "GIDDY?"

I'm still pinching myself. When I have this rifle in my hands, which I expect in a little less than two weeks or so, I will post photos. The deal has been made, but it ain't over until the fat lady sings...but I have no reason to expect this to fall through. WHAT is it? How about a Model 70...

How concerned with weight variation are you?

I think that if you want to match up brass by weight and compare different headstamps by weight, you need to weigh it without the primer.

    QLoad for 222 Remington, please....

I haven't had the time to really pursue it, but I've done some preliminary trials with LT-32 in the .222 Rem with 50-grain V-Max, and it looks as though it wants to shoot better than anything I've ever tried including H4198 and H322. I'd like to get back on it and try out some 40-grain I have...
