    Encore 6 Dasher Bullet Trail

Very cool ! There are days when I can see the vapor trail through the scope as I'm shooting.

    Ruger American in .223REM

I bought one in 308 hanging out in the pre-loved rifle rack at the local mom and pop gunshop. It's a sure enough shooter.

    6.5-300Wby

With the 130s it's 125 FPS faster than my 264 WM . Impressive but I think I'll stick to the 264. A 6.5-378 would be a screamer though.

    Long throats?

I've got a Rem 700 that I swear was built by Roy Weatherby's folks. To hit the lands I have to seat bullets 1/4 inch longer than the magazine.

    20 gauge Recommendations

Beretta . 390 or 391. I had a Browning Gold and hated it. Very heavy for a 20. Had an 1100 Lt 20 and wore it out in less than 3 seasons on doves.

    Ackley improved?

    Ackley improved?

My last build was a 260AI ( thanks to Creedmore The Enabler ) on a 700 LA Smith cut the throat WAY to long in it and he is in the process of setting it back and starting over. Got about 100 rounds down the tube and nothing shot well at all. Can't wait to get it back. Creed built one for his...

    Berger VLD Question

I'm in the " never on game again camp " when it comes to Berger bullets. After blowing a 2 inch wide patch of hair off an Auodad's chest with my 264 at 150 yards and then shooting another one that ran 75 yards into damn near impenetrable brush and leaving no blood trail, I'm done. Creedmore...

    H380 in 308

I've shot 48 grs of H380 and 165 BTs at whitetails for years . Never chronoed them though. Never had to shoot a deer twice either.

    I might have screwed up!

SWEET !!!! I thought about it too, but I need another rifle like I need another hole in my head. Have seen some impressive targets posted on the 'fire from the MRC rifles.

Scratch one off the bucket list

Thank Scotty and DrMike. I just pulled her out of the safe to fondle her once again. It's a fine rifle and a helluva piece of history. For me this rifle is a symbol. A labor of love. My dad was an officer in the 101st and trained on this rifle. Told me about it for all of his life. All it's...

Scratch one off the bucket list

The Garand got a little refinish this weekend. Couple of coats of Tru-Oil on her now. ( Didn't take long to dry in 105 degree heat either ) Stock turned out beautiful with the gloss finish but it didn't look right all shiny. Knocked the gloss off with some 000 steel wool.

    308 again

If I'm reading that correctly you're at 43.0 grs of Varget ? You need to keep working up. I'm shooting 165 BTs with 48 grs of Varget. I'd also play with the seating depth but all in all you're off to a good start. The deer population in your area isn't gonna like it too well though

Magic numbers for .264 Win Mag?

The only powder I've tried in the 264 is WC872 Mil spec stuff that has a burn rate very similar to H870. Here's a group w 130 ABs out of my rifle. Muzzle vel was 3350 with an ES of 9. The bottom left hole was a fouler.

    Palmetto State Armory

Have three rifles that were built with parts or complete uppers from PSA. There shipping times can be aggravating but products are as described and all three of my rifles shoot very well. As stated, subscribe to their daily deals but hide your credit card when you do. On average their daily...
