I did not grow up using iron sights, so I don't really worry about losing the rear peep, and I am not likely to use an IER or EER scope on the rail.
My current plan is the RMR on a QD mount for the rail; a Zeiss ZA 1.5x-6x 42mm for regular hunting/shooting, and a Burris FullField II 3x-9x...
I tried a couple of options.
First, a Trijicon Dual-illuminatd RMR:
The mount is way too high (it' s off one of my ARs).
Next, an Aimpoint PRO (off another of my ARs)
The Aimpoint is better height-wise, but I like the lower profile of the RMR if I get a lower mount, plus the RMR...
Was it cold? The grease on the firing pin spring may have congealed enough to slow the firing pin down.
Degrease your bolt. Then, use powdered graphite as a lubricant.

Luggage can be late, lost or misdirected on any flight, any where...
I use a chamber plug and fill the barrel with Shooters Choice. An overnight soak and brushing with a nylon bristle brush (stainless steel brushes and jags could damage the bore) will get all the copper out of a heavily fouled barrel.

Witt Machine is who you're thinking of; they are very highly regarded.
Don't be surprised, however, if your POI and accuracy change (the barrel harmonics will be different with the brake installed).
