Don't Laugh  but here's the plan.
I have a new Remington Long Range 30.06 as the donor,
Pac Nor Stainless Std Match @ 24" in the same Varmint
profile, will drop in to the B&C M40 That came on the Long Range,
a set of Talley bases and fixed rings holding a VX6 1-6 X24.
Yes a little heavy...
I couldn't believe it either Mike.
I suppose they have lost a lost of customers.
But the good news is that Jay from Pac Nor called me this afternoon
took the time to answer every question I had, and I will be sending
my 700 Action to them to rebarrel to the.35.
The cost is about 600$, I...
I have a Bulls bag also however I get better results shooting from my old hart
rest and a rear bag. I use old dryer sheets under the forearm and on the rear
bag and let the rifle recoil straight back into me. My .340 has a vicious muzzle
jump but I just tuck my left arm to the rear bag and let...
All this 340 stuff made me load a few
for Sunday afternoon... I hope the Non Magnum
people are at the club range. I love it when they ask
what the heck is that ?
Gentlemen,
To help me make a decision on this Whelen
I need some input on barrel lengths, contours and twist rates
[200-250gr bullets] as I am leaning toward rebarreling
a donor 700 barreled action. Also looking at Pac Nor for the
barrel and job. Any help would be appreciated, Skid
Boomer
That brake will save your eye the day your pulled up
tight on the stock. My leupold has almost 4" relief
and I am very aware of the rear lens on every shot.
I wonder how loud it is braked ? Also get them Talleys.
And some 250 Accubonds...and heaven forbid get some Sierra
250 SGK's. they...
Yes Sir.. The only gun I wont give up is my .340 Accumark.
If you want I can give you load data that has worked for me
but you would be advised to still work up each load. Max charges
had weatherby speed however lower velocities always gave sub MOA results
If 2850 seems slow launch a few 250s...
