OK... I have a set of RCBS .243 Dies... and I read where Remington Rifles after 1958 are interchangeable with 6MM and .243 ammo... But the parent cartridges aren't the same...are they? I want to get set up to reload for the 6MM Rem 700 I just acquired... I have lots of .243 Nosler bullets and...

Tom's gun trading adventures part 2....the new (old) 6MM Rem

Well, I have had some fun searching, swapping, buying and selling lately! My goal was to reduce my small gun collection by moving some rifles/shotguns that I wasn't using and acquire a few that I had a desire to hunt with...at the same time amassing some cash surplus for other needs...

Range Report... Rem Model 7 Syn SS... .308 Win cal.

Here is the rifle I received in the trade part of the 50th Anniversary .280 LSS transaction from Mike (.280 Remington). I believe it is a 2003 or 2004 Model 7 that Mike's dad had originally. I added a Kickeeze Pad to obtain my 13.25 LOP and mounted my Leupold 4.5X14 LR scope on it. Mike's dad...

Scope help on a Savage 99

I am picking up a real nice Savage 99 EG in .300 Savage next week. I have not had one before, but noticed when I examined it that the 3X9X40 Tasco that was on it was way short on eye relief, even with a front base extension. I want this rifle for Bear/Whitetails in the U.P. Cedar swamps and...

    Kimber Montana .270 WSM

Aye, my dilemma is the good price...and I am fond of Conquests... We have an excellent GSmith 45 mins from home and I believe the owner of the rifle will let me take it to the range. I do have some .270 Nosler bullets but would have to buy dies/brass...no big deal... I am thinking I will at...

    Kimber Montana .270 WSM

Ok learned riflemen... I have a regular client (I've been a fishing guide for several years), that has quite an accumulation of hunting rifles. He is approaching the "golden years" and thinning the collection. I have an opportunity to acquire a newer Kimber Montana in .270 WSM, topped with a...

Opinions on a new "Deer" rifle

Tikka Ltwt SS... yes, possible  Browning BLR SS...yes, nice in .358 but they are $1000+ Winchester 70 Fwt also a possible  A (pre Remington) Marlin 336 in .35 also peaks my interest (not sure about accuracy)

Opinions on a new "Deer" rifle

With funds pending on a couple firearm sales I will soon be in a position to purchase a new rifle to replace my .280 LSS. My problem is a damaged left shoulder that leaves me looking for a rifle under 7 lbs. I have one of the (rare) Model 7, 7mm-08 25th Anniversary LTD editions w 22"...
