Not sure as to what self defense ammo is best for a 3 1/4" barreled 45 ACP revolver.
I've been considering 230-gr. +P rounds like those from Ranger T @ 990 fps (4" barrel) or Double Taps 230-gr. +P @ 1,010 fps (4" barrel).
Question:
Do you feel that +P 45 ammo needs longer barrels to burn...

Just returned from the range again, and after experimenting with the Limbsaver Barrel De-Resonator on a stable bolt action with less moving parts, observed that the device did not affect accuracy at all.

P.S.:
The Barrel De-Resonator absorbs the vibrations while the bullet is inside the barrel and tones the barrel's movement for increased accuracy. It was designed to dampen out unwanted vibration by shortening the overall settling time of the barrel. Moreover, I believe the accuracy benefit...

Went to the range today to see how my Remington 7400 30-06 autoloader would do with the Sims Barrel De-Resonator and (after loosening the forend stock's screw to just finger tight) achieved the following results:

Target Distance: 100 meters...
Since the Partition is a heavy duty bullet, you can safely go down in weight to 165-gr. Conversely, heavy for caliber bullets (like 180-gr.) on deer should be of lighter construction like the Ballistic Tip or Solid Base.
