Right now I load 58gr of H-4831sc behind 140gr Accubonds and ballistic tips and CCI 250 primers with excelent results. Today the temprature was close to 100 with high humidity and was getting less than 1" groups at 100yds.
I got my loads out of my Nosler book, plus I called Nosler to get more information. I also looked on Hodgdon website and printed off loads. With the rifle that I was loading for it liked H-4831sc and H-4350. I used CCI 250 mag primers and WLRM primers.
I just started loading for a ladder test with a Savage bvss in 300 wsm and used the Nosler manual loads for the bt and and compaired them to Hodgdon online information, and couldn't tell any difference, as far as pressure. I used H 4350, H 4631sc, and H414 out of the three in that gun I liked...
Every thing that I have searched has reccomended between 94 &96gr of reloader 25 behind the 180gr accubond. I tried it in my actory Rem. 700 P
I started at 94gr and worked up in .5gr increments to 96gr. I then shot a 100yd ladder test (three shot groups of each load) and at 100yds you could...
I just ordered a Remington model 700P in 300 rum and my cousin just bought the same rifle in 300 win. What would be good starting and max loads for these two calibers? I already have about 1500 CCI 250 mag primers, and was considering the 180 gr Accubond. Hodgdon powders are the most readily...
More than likley I'm posting this in the wrong forum, but anyway I just got my so a rogue rifles chipmunk 22lr for Christmas. So that it will be said he is only six, and last year he got a B.B. gun (my first one was passed along) for Christmas and he showed alot of responsability so my father...
I currently have a tasco world class 3-12x40 on a rem 700, but it is 10-15 years old. It has started to get blury, and as the season goes by it starts to fog up in the colder weather. On top of the vision problemsit will not hold a zero after about 10 or 15 shots.
Over the past year or so I...
I have only been handloading for about two years now, but I can remember as a kid in the late `70's and early `80's watching my dad load for some of his rifles and pistols. He always used rcbs rockchucker presses and rcbs dies, all of which he later sold.
In the early `90's he and I started...
I haven't personally used talley mounts but know someone that has. Once he tried them he replaced every set of rings and bases that he had with talley one piece ring and base.
I also shoot a rem 700 and have a stoney point oal gauge and a bullet comparator, and last night I loaded some 140 grain accubonds for a friend that shoots a weatherby vanguard and according to the oal gauge and comparator my lands start .297 further than his.
weatherby 2.700...
I'm trying to find some info on Howa rifles before I buy one and the only thing that I can find links me to a Jap. machine shop, or a site discussing the Weatherby Vanmark which is built by Howa to Weatherby specs.
About two years ago I had some trouble with my scope base comming loose, but I reinstalled it with loctite and every year I check it. I haven't been able to shoot much this year so it's been just sitting in the safe, but normally when I shoot I carry my cleaning kit with me and about every...
As I've mentioned in other forms I own a Remington 700 chambered in 270 win that I've been shooting for about 15 years, but the gun is about 20-25 years old, but was never fired untill my father gave it to me at the age of 12 or 13. Right now it is still shooting o.k. but last year my groups...
I've been shooting a rem 700 chambered in 270 win for about 15 years now, most of the factory ammo that I bought was fereral premium 140 gr ballistic tip and had no trouble with it. Last year I started reloading and stuck with the 140 gr bt, loading 58 grains of h4831sc powder, and using cci...
I would like to see a 90 or 100gr ballistic tip for a 270 the only one I can currently find is a sierra varmiteer which I'm loading using hodgdon varget powder using the max powder charge and CCI 250 primers I'm getting awsome results, but in my hunting bullets I get better results with...
