Reloader 26 for 280 Ackley Improved

I just picked up a Kimber 84 Hunter in 280 Ackley Improved and my father is letting me use some RL 26 to try in it. I have done some google searches and seen several people on other forums referencing RL 26 in this cartridge but I can't find any data in the manuals I have at home or on...

My wishlist would include 6.5mm(.264) 130gr Ballistic Tip 7mm(.284) 120gr Etip (to compete with the Barnes TTSX) 8mm (.323) 150gr or 160gr Ballistic Tip to have more variety in the 8x57. And Lastly, how about a tipped version of the Partition or a Hybrid style bullet much like the Trophy...

6.5mm Sierra 130gr Gamechanger vs. Whitetail

Back in the Summer, I did a jug test with the Sierra 130gr Gamechanger from my 6.5 Creedmoor. I was impressed with the test and I am still impressed with this bullet. WV youth day, my son and I found a few does and I admit they wound up being closer than I anticipated. This deer was 51yards...

    Brass for 6,5 Creedmoor?

I bought a 6.5 Creedmoor about a year ago. I wanted to try the Lapua, but I honestly didn't want the hassle of a small rifle primer pocket and to deal with a smaller flash hole and having to find a decapping pin small enough to go through the flash hole. So...… I first bought 100 pieces of...

Hodgeman, thats the problem that im running into is that I can't find any bases that specifically are designated for 84L. I see some listed for the 84M, and also the 8400.

    StaBall 6.5

I saw on another reloading group I'm involved with that Powder Valley was the only one who had it so far but apparently they sold out in a short time. I too would like to try it. I want to try it in my 6.5creedmoor and my 7x57. If you get your hands on some, give us a report back and let us...

    Best choke tube lube?

What do you guys use on the threads of your choke tubes? I currently have some Birchwood casey brand choke tube lube and I'm wondering if there's something better out there I should know about and use.

    6.5 (.264") Sierra 130gr Gamechanger / 6.5 Creedmoor

The twist rate on my Creedmoor is 1 in 8". I'm not sure what to tell you about your 264win mag but I do know you can purchase these in a 50rd box. Only 1 way to find out. Maybe you could find a load near the middle of your loading data do your velocity wouldn't be too over the top.

Range Day - Mossberg Patriot .30-06

Boomer, you mentioned trying some Hornady bullets. Have you given any thought to the 178gr ELDX? I know that the 143gr ELD-X shoots fantastic in my Creedmoor. As far as powders go there's lots of options in the data. I guess it all depends on what you have available on your bench. I know my...

Range Day - Mossberg Patriot .30-06

Looks like you've got a couple good loads to work with. In my opinion the 150gr load looks like it's a little more accurate. The mossberg rifles aren't as expensive as others on the market but they sure do shoot good. I bought a Patriot Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor last year and it shoots lights...

    6.5 (.264") Sierra 130gr Gamechanger / 6.5 Creedmoor

I honestly don't have the slightest. I don't have access to a chronograph so I just load for accuracy. I know that powder charge is about 1.5 grains under "book max". My barrell length is 22 inches on the Mossberg Patriot

    8mm (.323) 150gr. Hornady Interlock from 8x57

I know the odd metric calibers get no love in the world of fastest, highest ballistic coefficient, most accurate, etc, but I love the simple fact that for well over 100 years the 8x57, 7x57, 6.5x55 etc have been successfully taking down animals. They just plain work. I will report back if I...

    Quickload questions/powder choices

I don't have quick load nor do I claim to know how to use it. So i have a question regarding the powders listed for any given cartridge in quick load. I was searching the forums for threads and info on the 8mm mauser (8x57) and I saw where someone had posted some info from the quickload info...

    Nosler BTs.

I love the 120gr Ballistic Tip in my 7x57. I push them as fast as I can and I haven't found one yet in a deer. I've taken 4 deer so far with that bullet. I hope they shoot good for you in your TCU.

    Federal Trophy Copper

Dr. Mike, I would concur, I recovered a 130 grain Etip from my 270 Winchester last fall that looked exactly like the one pictured.

Finally found a ruger Hawkeye safari in 275 Rigby!

That's a beautiful rifle and a fantastic classic chambering. I've had great results in my 7x57 with Remington, Winchester, and Norma brass, with Norma being the best. So far I've taken whitetails with the Hornady 154gr. Interlock, Sierra 140gr. Gamekings, and 120gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips...
