Seat-Belt material on top that will be engaging your buttstock, should work fine and be fairly durable as well.
We moved to a seatbelt type material on all of our rear bags and front bags, as it is slick enough, and was so much more durable than other materials that we have used in the past.

You need to train your brain (Practice your draws), until you are automatically on the red dot, and you are not looking for it any more.
