Seeing as Evinrude stopped making engines in 2020, I doubt that anyone is really buying them any more. I have one of the Johnson outboards (9.9) from when Bombardier made them for a short time in the early 2000s. Other than the fact that the carburetor has rotten out twice despite using only...
You already heard it, but I'll also say I don't cam over. Annealed brass (or brass in general) isn't so stiff that it takes that much force to reshape it.
It gets a firm press, and that's all.
Yes, I know as I use them all the time, though for me it's the down stroke since I use a Forster press.
However, you might not "drive" the case in as deep was my thought. I know that I can adjust how tight the collet pinches the case by adjusting the die, so it was worth a try to see if it helped.
Nothing wrong with your selection.
I'm taking a 7mm Wby with a suppressor, and Dad is taking a 300 Wby. We can always swap rifles if needed.
Which outfitter are you using?
Sounds like a great hunt!
Have you shot beyond 100 yards to verify where your bullet is hitting? 2” high at 100 doesn’t mean much if you don’t know where 200/300 and 400 are. You imply you have done this, so what’s the data?
Zeiss used to offer a turret retrofit service if you’re interested...
Notice how the vast majority of current doe permits are for whitetail deer.
Most areas have zero for mule deer.
I’ve never seen a whitetail buck or doe in the area we hunt, and neither has the ranch owner.
In the several years we went, I got mule deer doe tags twice. Once I successfully harvested a doe, and the other time I never could get a shot with them on our land.
They haven’t had MD doe tags there for a few years now, and I doubt they will.
Same for the area where we go. I tried for one of those 25 tags, but gave up last year and this year when I realized I was just donating ~$200 to the State of WY.
WY has crossed my mind a few times, but the dust and my Corvettes would not get along. I love it visit WY though, and Dad and I are tossing around the idea of antelope again this fall even though we're doing Africa (Namibia) in July.
SD is pretty in many locations. I could see somewhere between...
Yes, but unless you’re paying to play at Pine Hill, the pheasant hunting in SD beats us by far.
50 years ago it wasn’t like that, but this isn’t 50 years ago.
I wish we could get those!
Several years ago State Farm silently changed from a $ deductible to making it 10% of the value of your house. That means the first many of thousands are out of pocket, no matter what. We didn't find out until we had an issue on our former house. Thankfully it wasn't...
As I've said before on this site, I have shot 300 Wby in many configurations.
With a brake I think they're less than a 30-06.
Get a suppressor and while the recoil increases a bit vs a brake, the lack of bang really makes it enjoyable. I could shoot mine all day long.
No, I don't think a Mark V is any "larger" piece of equipment than a Win Model 70 with the same barrel, for example.
Note that I shoot my Banish 30 in 9" length on my 26" barrels on my Mark V. In open country it's not a big deal. Is it the "best" configuration? No, but I've used it many times...
Why not put a suppressor on a Deluxe?
Unless it's the one your Grandfather bought or it has some sentimental meaning to leave it as-is, it's still a tool. Even Adam Weatherby said this in a recent podcast - in reality, they sell tools.
I don't find a Mark V any more cumbersome than any other...
