I started loading in about 1966. My Dad and Grandfather bought me a Remington 700 ADL in 222. I still have that rifle. My Dad reloaded to save money and he showed me how. I discovered early on that I usually beat or at least equaled factory ammo accuracy. I load for a lot of different cartridges...
I have an old 700. Just retired from the oil field and need to work up a new load. I used the old screw turned 115 partitions and max load of IMR 4831. When Nosler changed the partition bullets, I never got the new ones to shoot as well. I have some 110 Accubonds and will try them. 300 yards is...
I am hoping to try the 64 in a few days. Doing a massive overhaul of my shop to accommodate a new safe and things are in bad disarray right now. I may have an old box of 60 grain partitions. I'm seeing hogs in some groups of over fifty. I've killed a bunch but not nearly enough.
Sorry folks. I looked the ammo up. Apparently sold as loaded ammo but not as a component bullet. I'm still working on the Nosler 64 grain bonded. I have some loaded but haven't tested it on hogs. Feeds ok in my friends 22-250 but not good in my old Savage Axis pickup rifle. Waiting on a new...
I seated these to the cannalure. Acuuracy was 3/4 with the 22-250 for five shots. Just got about 1 3/4 inch with the 223. I figure me fussing with dropping the mag three times and chambering by hand hand my blood pressure up. The last round fed perfectly. I ordered another mag and I'll try it...
I loaded some of these in my 22-250 Savage 14. No problems. In the Savage Axis 223/556 the blunt tip hangs on the feed ramp. If this a problem with the rifle, the magazine, or do I need to go back to a topped bullet? Thanks for any advice.
Not bad shooting. I have a 629 five inch and a four inch 29. The 629 is considerably beefier than the old 29 I have. I also have a 4 inch 57. I shoot almost all hard cast. The first few times I shoot, I polish the bores with JB compound and I have little leading problem. But that is with hard...
Have most of these. My Granddaughter shoots a 308 but I've dug out my Roberts. I've killed more deer with it than any rifle I own. I also have a light load in 30-30 she shoots. It kills hogs reliably.
