    First Mule Deer

Nice fat doe there Gerry congrats on the first! I'd wanted to shoot my first mulie this year also but my innnwr Michigander had me popping a good sized whitetail when he jumped up instead. Someday. They are not only beautiful animals but live in beautiful country!!

    Awesome 2016!

2016 has been a banner year for me! I've never shot two bucks in one season, but this year I had two occasions where I shot a 9 point bigger than any other buck in my life. A gentleman from another site (hint: see my hat) invited me in 2010 to put in for points in an area he knows well in SD. I...

Nosler 180 Partitions with IMR 4451

Wow man congrats that is looking like a great load! I haven't been able to use 4451 much at all; in my Better Bob it appeared to create substantially more pressure (measuring case head expansion) than IMR-4350 but I didn't get to run those over a chrono.

    Experience w/ 64 gr BSB in 12" twisted 223?

Awesome thanks Scotty that's what I was hoping to hear I appreciate it! I have a bunch of 55 gr GMXs too but like the fact that I don't have to get the BSB screaming to perform properly.

    Experience w/ 64 gr BSB in 12" twisted 223?

I just got a mini Mauser in 223 w/ 12" twist & hoping I can get something put together for deer w/ 64 gr BSB. I have RL15, CFE223, Benchmark, and IMR-4895. Anyone with experience? Thanks a lot, Efw

    25-06 and 90gr. Sierra HPBT.

There are too many far better options out there. These are flimsy turds IME so I'll only use them on chucks & yotes but not deer. They pop from my 257 AI. I've found a great load that hits similar speed & POI w/ this and the 90 gr GMX. The 100 NBT, 110 NAB, 115 NBT & 115 NPT are all excellent...

    120gr Speer SBT

I wouldn't call it fudge but Brian Litz has done a lot of research (centered around actual shooting of actual bullets) and found that the numbers ascertained by computer models that nearly all companies were using (except Berger & now Hornady) were significantly higher than actual field testing...

    120gr Speer SBT

I think 1Shot nailed it. A couple things to note, however: 1) the BTSP isn't a Hot Cor (those have a flat base) and isn't as tough 2) from what I've seen their BCs tend to be on the optimistic side That having been said I wouldn't hesitate to run them; I use the 145 BTSP in my 280 AI with...

    best brass prices ?

I've found the Graf & Sons prices on Prvi Partisan brass, along w/ their excellent shipping rates, to be the best around. PP brass has done very well by me performing at least as well if not a little better than the Remchester stuff I usually use.

    6.5x06

Thanks Scott; I am really thinking this will be a keeper. What you guys running for dies? I was thinking of a RCBS FLS (I don't use em crept for forming and occasional shoulder bumps), Redding Bushing neck sizer (270 win die/.295 bushing), and Hornady seater. Maybe a custom Lee Collet Neck...

    6.5x06

I'm building one now on the Rem-built 03A3 action I bought here from Dave. Had a swept-back FN-style handle welded on, and a #1 contour 24.5" 1-in-9" twisted tube is being installed next week. A milled BM/TG unit is on its way to my smith for contouring. I'm planning on a Timney FW as light as...

    6.5-280 AI

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too; straight-up 6.5-06. Thanks Gerry!

    6.5-284 Norma vs 6.5 Swede

^ Yep. I have liked some Savages they're great shooting rifles, but comparing a Savage to a Sako? I've lusted after a Sako since I was a kid; ain't nobody lusting after a Savage. Love the Swede too; 6.5-284 Norma is cool, but Swede is old school cool. 150 GPS doesn't mean jack IMHO. Sako...

    6.5-280 AI

I am thinking hard on using the 03-A3 action I bought from David here for this. I have a 24.5" 1-in-9" twisted tube already threaded for 03 & short-chambered 6.5-06. Gerry did you do this? I'd like to know if it's worth having to smooth up feeding over the drop-in fit of an 06. Thanks guys!

    Really disappointed

Yep. Sounds like a great reason to pop some caps need some brass to get flowin! Ain't a single bad reason to get out and pop caps IMHO ;) ! Honestly I haven't cleaned a primer pocket or trimmed a casein a long, long time. Lee Collet Neck Sizers and AI chambers work wonders for stretch but...
