Wow! Thanks to everyone. I was asking about the BTs for a backup bullet and also as some practice bullets but just incase they are needed for the Elk as well.
I was surprised and happy to see that BTs for the 7mm 08 was mentioned since this is my backup rifle at camp (4 hours+ too long of a...
Good Tuesday Morning
Here are my findings.
For all brass that do work without catching (Federal, Winchester, Hornady, Barnes) = 0.528 - 0.5285
For the Nosler brass (exception 4-5 of them that do work without a catch) = 0.530 - 0.5305 (a few are at 0.531)

Hi Reloading Rocket Scientists!
I am reloading for a hunting partner come this Fall '25 in Colorado 3rd season for a first time for his 30-06. I have reloaded for 30-06 before with standard Hornady bullets and the friends took their Mule deer one shot. I want to work with Nosler for this...
RL338, you are correct.
"On the up stroke the shell holder contacts the bottom of the collet and drives it up into the forcing cone closing it up onto the mandrel sizing the neck."
I gave it a shot what Dr Vette suggested with different levels with the die but, yeah, your discernment is...
You know, I never thought of that. I will try it tomorrow morning and give back report. I will try different slight back offs.
super thanks Dr. Vette!!
Good Saturday Scotty!
Nice answer. Might I ask what you are using for powder and your muzzle velocity :):)
You always come thru for me Scotty! Super thanks
Thank you!
Thank you for the pics RL338
Something is not adding up so I am going to call Lee Precision on Monday or Tuesday and get their discernment. I will update all with Lee Precision explanation thereafter. Could very well be just me! ;)
Thanks again

I was about to order some Nosler 7mm 150gr AccuBond Long Range bullets for a 7mm 08 Weatherby Vanguard Compact rifle but saw some reloaders mention they have to seat the bullets very deep into the case neck. I then decided I better measure the COAL length offering of the rifle's magazine for...
Upon returning back to reloading for my 338 win mag, I have encountered a "possible concern" with 45 out of 50 Nosler cases (fired 2-3 times)
I also have many other brass manufacturers (Federal, Winchester, Hornady) but am not experiencing this scenario below:
I use a Redding body die to bump...
Wow good people and experts. I sure am glad I thought to get back on this forum. Every single expert advice is well taken and hopefully will be remembered going forward.
I have one other concern, but I am going to open a new thread even though it is semi related.
Thank you, every single...
Scott that is what I have done in the past years ago, but been away from this for a bit long time so I wanted to make sure on that.
Scotty! Is this you from the Adirondacks?
I am still the same Steve you sent some free cases to me when I first joined 10-11 years ago and you stood up for me a...
Thanks to you Joe and Mark. So it appears I do not necessarily need the "Go, No Go, Field gauges"
I was thinking I was missing some very critical. Currently I use the Hornady tool and comparator with both inserts and bushings.
Again thank you both for saving me money and concern
