I was about to order some Nosler 7mm 150gr AccuBond Long Range bullets for a 7mm 08 Weatherby Vanguard Compact rifle but saw some reloaders mention they have to seat the bullets very deep into the case neck. I then decided I better measure the COAL length offering of the rifle's magazine for just my 7mm 08 Vanguard S2 and discerned this magazine box max is approx. 2.877.

Does anyone own, or has reloaded or know if the 7mm 150 gr AccuBond Long Range bullet can even fit or work effectively in a 7mm 08 Weatherby S2 or a 7mm 08 Weatherby Vanguard Compact rifle?

Super Thanks

I think they’ll work Steve. Right now I’m using them in my 7-08 Kimber Montana which has about the same OAL mag and by the time I seat them back to about 2.820 or so they are about .050 off the lands which is near where they usually shoot the best for me.

Good Saturday Scotty!
Nice answer. Might I ask what you are using for powder and your muzzle velocity :):)

You always come thru for me Scotty! Super thanks

Right now I have tried RS Big Game and SB6.5. Both of those are making 2800-2850 pretty nicely. Haven’t perfected the load yet. It’s been cold and windy lately.

Excellent caliber and rifle choice. I’m a huge Vanguard fan and a believer in the 7-08.
The 150gr LRAB bullet loaded to 2.800” will leave you good usable case capacity.
What powder are you using?

I was referencing that the 150’s would allow case room from my experience running 154gr SST with W760 years ago.
