That was a very cool video. It is one thing to see something like that , but another to video it.
That is one thing I enjoy about spring turkey hunting is observing the different wildlife, even if I don't harvest a bird. One of the things I noticed this year is that the gray wolf population...
My first elf was with a 7mm Rem Mag and 175 grain SGK. It was a one and done kill at about 250 yards. On that hunt we took four bulls and all were one and done at various yardages. The cartridges that were used included:
7mm Remington Magnum - 175 grain
300 Winchester Magnum - 180 grain
30-06 -...
When I retired my son gave me a Cooper model 22 6.5x284 Norma that was equipped with a Nightforce Competition model scope. The glass was clear, but found the reticle to be too fine for my eyes. It came with a lighted dot in the center of the reticle, but it was so weak you couldn't see it in...
I've got one of these on the shelf, but have not used it in s long time. The rings seem to have improved over the years to where it hasn't been necessary. I used it a lot back when I was using Leupold and Redfield rings and bases. I need to open the box and check to se it mine has rusted.
It isn't what I use today, but a bottle of Hoppes #9 sets on the shelf next to where I work on and clean my guns. The cap gets opened every now and then, just for that nostalgic smell.

You didn't say at what ranges your friends are taking game. That could impact their blood trails. The 6.5 Creedmoor is inherently an accurate cartridge and many are using it for long range target shooting, but like all cartridges used to harvest game, each has its limitations. There is more than...
My 280 700 Remington Mountain Rifle shoots a ragged one hole group with 140 gr Sierra Game Kings and a stiff load of IMR-4350. Groups do open up as I try to increase bullet weight. If your Mountain Rifle is the same model as mine, you may see your groups open up with 175 grain. I believe, it's...
Smith model 41, .22 LR for target
Browning Nomad, .22 LR for small game and trapping
Browning Hi-Power, 9mm for target and plinking
Smith model 657-3, .41 Mag for larger game
Kimber 1911 Ultra Carry II, .45ACP for a carry piece
I have others, but these tend to be the favorites
My .44 bullets are limited to those made by Hornady and Speer. This is only because they were what was available locally when I picked up my Ruger 96/44. Unless I was having an issue there was no reason to introduce another into the mix.
