    Heart Attack while Hunting

Sounds like a rough time for a while but good to hear you got it headed in the right direction. Keep on getting better.

Homestead Shooting Ranges and Food Plot

Just some footage of the shooting ranges and food plot on the homestead. Nothing exciting. The food plot was a jumble of brush and logging debris when I had it cleared last Spring. I tilled and planted a supposed good mix for deer but due to drought conditions I couldn’t plant until late Autumn...

    Sealion Chorus

Just a short trail cam video of a bobcat and coyotes. There is a cacophony of sealions barking in the Columbia River a mile away. They’re after the smelt and salmon in the river. Makes fishing hard as they will take fish off the line any opportunity they will get. Had one chase my lures right...

Few more pics of the recent elk harvest

A few more pics of yesterday’s fun. Thankful at this point to have a good buddy who ends up doing most of the work. He gets to use my other land owner tag so between the two of us we have a great chance of putting some meat in the freezer each year. He was willing to spend most of the morning...

    Homestead Elk Harvest

Filled the cow elk tag this morning. Not the best video. With the camera mount on the scope the cross hairs look crooked in the video if the camera isn’t lined up right. With the short scope rings on this rifle I need to leave it loose so I can remove it quickly to cycle the bolt.

    Twighlight Eagle Sanctuary

No eagles on this trip but a few ducks. Not a lot of actions so may put you to sleep.

    More critters

I have a cow tag for the property so if I get a chance I will put her down. I got later video of her and she was moving quite a bit better. Was actually covering the ground at a good pace. Interesting one night they were in the area and the coyotes were hanging right with them. I don’t know if...

    Vortex Strike Eagle 4-24

I’ve had limited experience with the Vortex line up but so far it’s all been good. EuroOptic has these on sale for $319 with free two day shipping. Ordered on Monday and it was delivered on Wednesday. Just saw a used one go for $500 on EBay plus shipping cost so somebody must think it’s a decent...

    Match bullets for hunting-not recommended

My hunting partner harvested a cow elk this morning. The initial shot was broadside at approximately 165 yards. 165 grain bullet out of a 308. She turned and ran 50 yards across a field and then stopped broadside. He proceeded to hit her three more times before she finally went down. Upon...

Trigger time with the pellet guns

Being in NW Oregon it is rare to find a decent day in Winter for some trigger time at the shooting range. A few years back I discovered the joy and challenge of shooting pellet guns. With a portable shooting bench under cover and a back yard shooting range I can get some shooting in even when...
