    70 grain Accubond in a 1-8” .223?

I just bought 500 seconds from SPS. Does anyone have load data for this bullet in a .223? Might be fun for deer. P

QL request, 7mm-08 and 162 Eldx

I get groups in the .3 or better at 2790 fps with my existing recipe. A 5x6 bull and a bunch of deer couldn’t argue much with the lethality. I was quite surprised at the similarity, ballistically, between the two loads. Not enough improvement with the 162 to warrant the effort. P

QL request, 7mm-08 and 162 Eldx

Thanks DrMike. I ran the numbers for the 150 at 2790 and the 162 at 2700. I was very surprised at the similarities. It doesn’t look worth the effort. P

    100 FPS worth it

My hunting party has on-game experience with 150 and 162 Eldx on deer and elk from 100 to 400 yards. The 150s were out of a 7mm-08, mv 2790, and the 162s from a 7mm Rem Mag, mv 2986. 50% weight retention and 2x expansion, when recovered. Everything died, and right now. In fact, my brother...

QL request, 7mm-08 and 162 Eldx

I have a great load using the 150 eldx (2790 FPS, little bitty groups) but I keep hearing that the 162 eldx might be a better choice for longer ranges. I load the 162 in a couple of 7mm Rem Mags at 2986 fps, with great on-game performance as well. So what does QL say about the 162 in the...

    7mm-08 Quick load data

Maybe if you get a wild hair and want to try the Hornady 150 gr ELDX... We’ve kilt elk and deer with the Mighty -08 and this load over the last couple of years. 2790 fps and a screaming BC is potent medicine. P

64 gr. Nosler Bonded Solid Base Blems

A guy on 24hourcampfire posted about working up this load in his Tikka, with great success. He really spent a lot of time creating the most accurate load for that rifle. Then he listed the rifle for sale. For a really good deal. So I bought it. Duh. Let's just say you won't find the recipe...

    7mm-08

I started experimenting with the 150 ELDX last year after two of our bucks were taken at over 500 yards, 140 Partition and 140 Accubond. The 150 ELDX has a significantly better BC but let's face it, BC differences don't much matter inside of 500, maybe even farther. More weight means less...

    7mm-08

I've been using the 7mm-08 exclusively for years. I load for 4 7mm-08s, all Tikkas. 2013, 140 Partition, 68 yards, one shot, DRT. 2015, 140 Partition, 346 yards, one shot, DRT. My dad, 2015, 140 Accubond, 225 yards, one shot, 90 feet. My nephew, 2017, 150 ELDX, 407 yards, dead on...

10-shot load development begin, 30-06, Ramshot Hunter

Hunter is all I use in 5 or 6 .30-06s. 59.0 grains with a 180 Partition with a Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primer gets me right at 2825 from a Tikka barrel. If that won't kill it, it don't need killin'. P
