I have always gone with the BT and 58-59grs of H4831. It just seems to work. Tried and proven is the way to go 👍

Is there such a thing as a control load for the 270? I’m thinking a 130gr bullet over H4831? The question is, what bullet to start with. The BT is always a favourite in just about any cartridge.

I have some Sierra’s and 180BT to try. My previous 8’s liked the 220 over RL25.

Has anyone purchased one of these? If so, what’s your opinion of it?

This might be a strange question but thought I’d ask. Just picked up an older Ohaus 10-10 scale and it stinks of cigarette smoke. What would be a good way to clean it? I think even the plastic cover has turned a darker colour from the smoke.

Well, added some Sierra 220gr bullets to my stash. Just need to find some powder now. That’s going to be the challenge. My previous 8’s liked this bullet over RL25. The search is on!

Has anyone tried 180gr BT in the big 8? Just wondering what powders you used. Was thinking RL22 or RL25.

What is everyone using for dies? Thinking of Forster or Hornady, but open to suggestions. Not competitive shooting, just paper punching and hunting.

Yes, some good hand loads should tighten those groups up. Quite impressed with factory ammo though. At least it made the accuracy guarantee lol

Sorry, yes it’s a 257.

Got out to the range today and only had factory ammo to get sighted in with. The Weatherby 120gr PT shot pretty good.
