This might be a strange question but thought I’d ask.

Just picked up an older Ohaus 10-10 scale and it stinks of cigarette smoke. What would be a good way to clean it? I think even the plastic cover has turned a darker colour from the smoke.
 
if you have access to any type of ozone generator it might help with the smell. I picked a small one on amazon a couple years ago because I left a couple hunting jackets in the garage and they had an odor. it worked for that.
 
Try to wipe the scale down with some white vinegar and leave it outside for some time in the sunlight. Hopefully that works.
 
You can use a handheld steam wand. It will clean, and sterilize without affecting its calibration.
