I've been humbled many of time by my brain. When my eyes see that i'm stacking rounds on one another my brain has to screw with me and send that message to my trigger finger to pull or push the trigger differently and throw off my nice group.
Army M1 ball ammo was a 174gr boat tail projectile fired at 2650fps+/- and the M2 Ball was 152gr flat based Spitzer bullet fired at 2800fps+/-
The 03A3 that I had shot the 150gr Sierra Pro Hunter really well. I loaded it over IMR 4895 going off of the Service Rifle loading data.
I haven't...
I have been looking at getting a 4 to 6 person Tipi style tent that I can put a folding stove in it. I have a 5th Wheel Toy hauler that I want to use as a base camp and then use the Tipi to get a little further out into the wilderness as a Spike camp. I'm actually looking for a more light...
Your mixed brass is the problem. Some of it's going to be thicker and will cause pressure issues. That's why you're seeing flattened primers and other pressure signs.
When I first got my 280AI years ago I had to fire form the brass for it. After fire forming I weighed each case and sorted...
Where I see this working is with the longer bullets in the shorter actions. The current trend is for long sleek VLD bullets and non traditional twists to stabilize them. Most of the current WSM rifles are built on shorter actions and when you try to load a VLD bulled in them you start to...
They ruined Cabelas so I don't see them doing anything different with Sportsmans Warehouse. Jack the price up on guns and peddle their garbage RedHead brand.
I don't have a 35 Whelen but I did have a 350 Rem Mag. My favorite bullet was the 225gr Sierra Game King. They were very accurate and killed Deer with authority.
My first Deed and first Elk were taken with a 100gr Remington Core-lokt fired from my Remington 700 ADL 243 Winchester. It was a small 4x4 bull maybe 2 years old. Shot was 125-150yds away and I was able to hit in the perfect location. Took out the lungs and heart. He bucked up and took a few...
I have bought two VX3i in the past year. They are much nicer than my VXIIIs that I bought back in early 2000ish. Much crisper images when comparing side by side.
Does anyone have any experience with the Razor UHD line?
I'm looking for a new set of Binoculars and have been watching and reading a lot of reviews. I'm looking hard at the Vortex because I have a few friends who have the Razor HDs and have looked through them quite a bit. The other...
No experience with the 107 SMK but i've shot the 100gr Nosler Ballistic tip from a Grendel and my Swede on Coyote and they worked really well. Then Grendel didn't have the velocity that the Swede has of course but it still caused a heck of an exit hole on a large mangey male. The Swede dropped...
Thank you for the welcome.
I too like to keep it simple and have a couple go to loads in my rifles. The 270 is new to me so I am starting from scratch.
I am basically looking for an all around load and this is why I’m looking at the 150 Partitions. I want an effective bullet for Elk and Mule...
My friend went to Texas a few years back with his Grendel and used the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter bullet. He shot 3 good sized sows and he said each one only took a single shot. They shoot well out of my Grendel. They are inexpensive which is a bonus.
I have a CZ 550 Full Stock that I shoot. It's a modern action so I load it accordingly. I use Reloader 19 and the Swift 130gr Scirocco with Federal 215 Match primer.
My friend uses that bullet out of his 300 Bee. He shot a large cow elk last year and she didn't go anywhere but down. I Don't know the velocity out of his rifle but they worked well.
In my old 300 Win mag I shot the 200gr Sierra Game king and they shot bug hole groups out of the rifle...
I used it in 223 and 308. 70gr Speer in the 223 shot really well. The 308 load was a 150gr fmj plinking load for my AR 10. Both loads were/are very accurate.

I agree with you on the fact that they already have the barrel in the caliber. Takes very little to screw it on a left handed action. Not like they have to re tool to build a left handed action.

I am a lefty as well and feel your pain. I have a few left handed rifles but most of them are right handed.
It seems all the left handed rifles a company puts out are chambered in plain vanilla calibers but the right handed ones have every caliber imaginable.
I’ve talked with gun reps at SHOT...
